I have never made a formal election prediction, let alone one that claimed to be prophetic.
But just to state the seemingly obvious (and to underscore our spiritual needs), on September 25 I posted on X,
“My prediction for the presidential elections is not a happy one. Simply stated, I believe that whoever wins the election, America will be more divided the day after November 5 than the day before. We need God!”
I was stating what seemed to be totally self-evident, making this a satirical “prediction.”
After all, couldn’t everyone see what was coming?
On a more sober and serious note, in keeping with my ministry calling and gifting, I also posted,
“As we approach Nov 5, plenty of people can offer a more astute political commentary than me. What I can do is help ignite a fresh spiritual fire in each of us, knowing that, as we burn bright, America will be changed.” The post was then linked to my article titled, “I Stand in Need of Oil.” (It’s still a good read!)
But my politically astute Stream colleague Al Perrotta emailed me regarding September 25 post, writing,
“I saw your tweet about trouble no matter what happens. I am not so sure about that. Harris is simply so bad at this, she will continue to fade. Where the numbers stand right now, Trump wins. And given how he under-polls, he may actually be winning big. And if Harris does crater, we could be looking at a blowout. I mean, Gallup has Trump up 3% now in the popular vote. I think a landslide will only leave the radicals and TDS crowd bothered. While Trump will remain in personal danger, and the radicals will act out, I believe, if it is a blowout, the country at large will be like, ‘We're done with those people. Let's get going.’
“Again, that's if there is a landslide. If there is funny business, if it's a case where Trump has a landslide on Election Night, but the Soros-controlled swing states start dragging out mail-in counts and magically find ballots everywhere, then you will have huge problems. However, if we are 40 days out and places supposedly blue, like Virginia, are a dead heat, it could be a very short night. I mean, it's nothing official, but when I drove through Pennsylvania near Philly and then in New Jersey and saw Trump signs everywhere, and maybe four Harris signs, there just is no enthusiasm for her.”
Well what do you know. Al really nailed it. Shall we call him “Prescient Perrotta”?
To be perfectly candid, I don’t read enough of Al’s columns to see when he gets things wrong (sorry, Al, but I don’t want this to go to your head!). But he was so right this time (and other times as well), that I wanted to lean into the significance of Trump’s decisive victory.
Months earlier Al had emailed me his thoughts about the potential power of a Trump-Gabbard ticket, speaking very highly of her. That was long before she joined the GOP and, of course, even longer before Trump chose her to be on his cabinet.
Prescient Perrotta indeed.
As for his statement that, if Trump won big, much of America would say, “We're done with those people [meaning the radical leftists]. Let's get going,” he was absolutely on target here.
Consider Democratic leaders now saying, “We were dead wrong about supporting boys playing in girls’ sports!” The emperor’s new clothes are being revealed at last. To cite one representative headline, “Dems torn over transgender issue: Centrists worry that party is ‘reading the public wrong.’”

The list goes on and on.
The Trump victory, whether you love him or hate him, represents a repudiation of the radical left.
In this light, I can humbly point to my January 2024 article titled, “Woke Won’t Work.”
I also get some things right. (Imagine a smiley face emoji here.)
