  1. A Palestinian people? Well, there are Arabs who live in the Levant, which is the geographical region commonly known as “Palestine.” There are no Iraqi people, either, for that matter, but Arabs who inhabit Mesopotamia, now known as “Iraq.” We don’t have to look for a Palestinian people. The Arabs were there for many centuries. The people who live there now do not deserve to be victimized, regardless of the fact that their ancestors conquered the region from the Byzantines. The conflict stems from the reality that these people, who are Arab, were displaced when Israel was founded in 1948. They lost their country overnight. You say it wasn’t their country? Well, for that matter, the US doesn’t belong to the Americans, France doesn’t belong to the Franks, the Balkan lands do not belong to the Slavs, we can keep going. That is not fair. Today they live in an open sewer while Israel is one of the most affluent countries on the face of the earth, and we complain that the Palestinians feel that they are suffering and act out in desperation. Okay, sure.

  2. Actually…

Israel conquered the territory in question in 1967 from Jordan who was one of the adjacent countries planning on destroying Israel. Jordan gave up its rights to the territory in 1988. Palestine was never a country. The flag of Palestine shown in a 1939 was half blue and half white with a gold star of David in the middle. Hmmm? If there are real Palestinians from the past they must be Jewish.

The Arabs in the west bank get their water and electricity form Israel. They have the best farmland in the valleys and refuse to plant it. They own the refugee camps and keep thousands and thousands locked inside. Their pseudo-government refuses to get along and would rather support terrorists. They have posters of their heroes hanging from the light poles…these are the the same people that died by carrying suicide bombs. Great heroes aren’t they.

If they really live in a sewer, they have chosen it…or actually their leaders have. 5 years ago, I was there and spoke to a reporter from the Netherlands that had just interviewed Arabs on the streets of their cities in the west bank. The overwhelming majority did not want a Palestinian state. They know where the real corruption is. They believe that everything is much more stable and free with Israel in control.

My son is in the west bank now and just a couple of days ago he was there when a group of Arabs from neighboring town ambushed two IDF soldiers stabbing them repeatedly. The soldiers made it to where my son’s group were living and so they lived instead of died. Recently and more than once, he and the group that he is with have been harassed and threatened by by west bank Arabs while they were pruning vines.

Showing oneself friendly goes a long way toward one being treated as a friend. Maybe the Arabs should try getting along. Is it all the Arabs’ fault. No, but it is time for them to choose a different method. They need to stop glorifying terrorists and get some actual statesmen. They need to stop teaching their children to hate. They need to repent and turn from their wicked ways and YHWH will heal their land. They can expect no more than a sewer if they continue in their foolishness.

    Shalom
