For the first time ever, Dr. Brown welcomes to the Line of Fire as guest host Dr. James White, host of the Dividing Line internet radio broadcast and author of many books, along with being Dr. Brown’s debating opponent and partner. Dr. White will look at the reliability of the Scriptures in the first hour and then focus on Mormonism in the second hour. Call in with your toughest questions today! Dr. White’s website is www.aomin.org. Listen live here 2-4 pm EST, and call into the show at (866) 348 7884 with your questions and comments.

Hour 1:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line (Dr. James White Guest Host): If you’re trusting in Jesus for your eternal salvation, you better trust His view of Scripture as well. Any person who follows Jesus for salvation is being very foolish if they think they can have a more “intelligent” view of Scripture than Jesus Himself had.

Hour 2:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line (Dr. James White Guest Host): Islam is closer to biblical Christianity than Mormonism because Islam is monotheistic (believes in one god) whereas Mormonism is polytheistic (believes in many gods).

  1. I am a believer in the original Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as organized by Joseph Smith Jr. in 1830 and reorganized by his son Joseph Smith III in 1860 following his father’s martyrdom and the resulting disorder of the church. I am not a Mormon. I do not believe that Brigham Young was a prophet. I do not believe in polytheism, polygamy, or eternal marriage and neither did Joseph Smith. Many documents presented after his death were forged and not even supported by his wife Emma or his family. I do believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. I believe that Joseph Smith was visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ and was told that the fullness of the gospel (as was in place at the time of Christ in the New Testament) no longer existed on the earth due to apostasy. Joseph was visited by an angel and given a history of the people that the Lord brought to the Americas to preserve the true record and history of the Jews (since the record was continually reinterpreted as it was rewritten and translated until the time of Ezekiel just like the many versions of the bible that are being rewritten and reinterpreted today). The truth would have been lost save it were for the groups of Jewish people that the Lord directed to save the records of the history of the Jews from creation to their current time. He did this several times. I believe that Jesus then visited these people in America following his resurrection and imparted to them the truth of the gospel as given to the disciples. Ask yourselves why wouldn’t Jesus preserve the truth, why wouldn’t He visit his people the Jews wherever they were in the world at the time of his resurrection, and why wouldn’t He give them direction and hope just like He did to the Jews that believed in Him in Jerusalem? He would and He did. There is truth on the earth today in the restored gospel. The Book of Mormon is a true history of the preserved Jews. The Lord has restored His true priesthood and it is ONLY through baptism by immersion and the laying on of hands by a priesthood member having true authority from God that one can receive the Holy Spirit and enter into the Kingdom of God.

  2. The King James Bible is perfectly adequate. The more recent bibles are full of later theological biases. Don’t let anyone kid you.

  3. Thanks James, I enjoyed the show, specially the second hour. The entire two hours felt like it was only 30 minutes. Time flew by.

Glad to hear you host the Line of Fire.

  4. Jerah,

    You wrote:
“The Book of Mormon is a true history of the preserved Jews.”

If this is the case, why does it contradict the Law and the Prophets in the Bible? Messiah certainly accepted the Law and the Prophets as infallible just as they existed in His day. It is provable that they have not been corrupted since then. Either Messiah told the truth or Joseph Smith did. They both cannot be correct. Who is your Messiah if you choose Smith over the man described in the gospels? Can Joseph Smith save you? Did he die for your sins?

    Shalom

  5. The DNA test alone completely obliterate the north American version of the wildest story ever told. The 1800’s north American religions have done much damage to the Christian church. Those religions are Mormon’s)) Seventh Day Adventist)) and the knock off brand Jehovah’s Witnesses. These religions not the only ones have perverted the understanding of many people. Even with DNA evidence the Mormon’s continue to grow.

  6. The Mormons, Jehovah’s Wits, etc, all came out of the Second ‘Great’ Awakening, as did many other streams and strands of traditional Evangelical Protestantism. One wonders if that was really the work of the Holy Spirit. God is not the author of confusion.
