  1. These kind of stories/hoaxes abound on the internet: waitress not tipped and left nasty note stating a racial or other reason. I have received such “news” before on Facebook. Surprised that the story wasn’t immediately debunked before it spread so far. But then again it fits the victim-of-hate narrative that these groups use to manipulate the public. Propaganda, pure and simple.

  2. I was very disappointed by this show. I utterly reject the line of reasoning: “Of course I condemn harming gays… but here are the real facts.”

Rape apologists use exactly the same line of reasoning. So do child molesters.

Rape apologists focus on the very few false rape claims while garnering no sympathy for the vast majority of real rape victims. For whatever perverse reasons, some people do the same thing with child sexual abuse.

This line of reasoning does not “separate fact from fiction” but, instead, is a dangerous deception emphasizing the anomalous was de-emphasizing the victims.

If Dr. Brown was genuinely interested in painting a factual picture of homophobia, he would recount about 50 real stories of victimized gay kids before recounting a false claim and then recounting 50 more stories of people deeply damaged by homophobia.

And by “dangerous deception” I mean literal danger. Show like this one endanger our brother and sisters who don’ love as some think they should.

We Christians should be defending these vulnerable children of God, not deflecting compassion for them by focusing on the occasional false claim.

  3. Greg,

Can you explain what you mean by “vulnerable children of God” in this context? Thanks!

Also, since I’ve dealt with issues of mistreatment of LGBT people scores of times, I’m curious as to why you seem utterly unconcerned about all these other falsehoods which help fuel the fires of anger and hatred.

  4. I don’t know much about the real story of Roe (spelling?) v Wade, but I heard something about the judges saying in effect that they did not find it necessary to determine whether a developing baby in the womb is a human life or not, in order to make their decision in the case.

And yet the case gave women the right to abort.

If one was to press a button to send off a nuclear
rocket, shouldn’t one first be certain that no human lives would be affected in an adverse way?

Likewise, the gay agenda comes out of a disregard for the things of God.

  5. Greg, Suppose Adam and Eve, when asked by the Lord if they ate the fruit which was forbidden, they would have said, “Yeah, but this was just something between two consenting adults. Besides, we weren’t hurting anybody.”?

If they would have done that, would that have been the right thing to do?

  6. What does homosexuality, rape, and pedophilia have in common? They are all against God’s will for man who has been created in his image. Nobody is born a rapist, pedophile, or with feelings of homosexual attraction. Everyone is born into sin. We all have to struggle with temptation in this world. It’s terrible to commit the above mentioned sins and others. Sin is anything done outside the will of a holy God. In Christ there is atonement for them, but one must admit their sin. The problem with homosexuality these days is that many people want to claim it is not outside of God’s will and they take pride in it. Homosexuality is clearly outside God’s will, but the pride people have about it these days is a much greater sin. We have all sinned, but most of us know what he have done was wrong and repented. The danger is when we have done wrong, but tell ourselves and each other that it was actually righteous in the eyes of a holy God. Our way leads to death, but God’s way leads to eternal life. I choose God’s way.

  7. Dr. Brown,

I’m wondering if you have ever seen the ruins of the cities in the above post, during your visits to the Holy Land.
