There is no scientific proof that 99.99% of all the people born before 1000 C.E. ever existed, but that does not mean that they didn’t. The Bible is historical record that proves historically that over 3200 people existed. Just because you cannot trace your ancestry back 4500 years does not mean that someone else can’t.

    > Oh sure. Name just one of those 3200 people. Name one person who can trace their ancestry back that far or even half that far. You people can be made to believe ANYTHING. The reason the Hebrews made a rule that you’re Jewish if your mother is regardless of your father’s ancestry is because no one knew who was sleeping in what tent with who. As it is today, many people back then did not know for sure who their father was. Do you? Did you give him a DNA test?

As for David existing, your not up to speed on current archeology. You are only about 150 years behind. That is not too bad for someone who gets all of his information from unreliable sources and believes everything they say, though.

    > You just can’t find this kind of entertainment and humor anywhere but among creationists! I got my information from the source that Sheila recommended, The Biblical Archaeological Revue! That was a good source until you found out what they are really saying. Really man, that is just priceless!

“In 1868, a stone tablet was discovered in Jordan. It was written by a Moabite king named Mesha, an enemy of Israel.
The stone dates to around 840 BC, less than 200 years after David and it provides the first known reference to the “House of David” outside the Bible.
“And ‘House of David,’ it means ‘dynasty of David.’

    > No it doesn’t. But then you get all of your information from unreliable sources and you believe everything they say. “David” actually is the word that means “beloved” and so this inscription, widely believed to be one of the many Christian forgeries and fakeries anyway, simply says “House of the Beloved.”

So we know that there was a guy called David, and he had a dynasty,” Garfinkel said. “Okay, so now this is absolutely clear that David is not a mythological figure. So the mythological paradigm collapsed in one moment.”

    > A few letters on a rock is all it takes to convince you that a young boy killed a ten-foot tall giant with a stone and a slingshot. Sorry, people with critical thinking skills are going to need just a little more evidence than that. If David and Solomon actually existed then other cultures would have mentioned them. They do not.

More than a hundred years later the same phrase, “House of David,” turned up on another stone, this time in northern Israel.
It was written about 200 years after David’s rule — again, by one of Israel’s enemies, Hazel, the king of Damascus. “He said, I killed 70 kings. I killed a king from Israel and a king from the House of David,” Garfinkel explained.”

    > Of course if 70 kings were all killed by one man we would have some kind of evidence for this. This just proves that no one knew how to write history back then, especially the Hebrews who believed the earth is flat and motionless.

The Shroud of Turin has absolutely nothing to do with my faith and everything to do with a mystery that even pagan, secular atheists cannot figure out. The carbon dateings were shown to be skewed, supposedly not deliberately, however, it’s clear that the one who took the sample didn’t follow scientific protocol when selecting it. The three labs used a sample taken from the same area on the cloth. That is not good science. There is a challenge of a substantial monetary prize put to anyone who could say “how” the image on the Shroud came to be there. Perhaps you could solve it and claim the prize.

    > Sure. The biggest fabrication factory in the history of the world made it, the Christian Church. They faked pieces of a cross and many other items made to convince the faithful that their mythology wasn’t really mythology, even though they knew it was.”It has served us well, this myth of Christ.” – Pope Leo X.

Enough with the Shroud though. I’ll point you to this and let it be. Unfortunately the page is unavailable right now but it’s “The Shroud of Turin Blog.” A catholic hosts it but I can assure you it covers “EVERYTHING” about it.

Btw, (just one more thing) the sample used for carbon dating was contaminated with cotton fibers from an old patch rewoven into the linen. Sue Benford and Ray Rogers from Los Alamos Labs wrote the pier reviewed papers on the findings.

    > That is just hilarious. Carbon dating is accurate when you want it to be but when it shows the earth is very old it isn’t accurate. Sorry you Bible believers surrendered your right to appeal to science a long time ago.

Van, speaking in tongues is proof Jesus existed because he promised the holy Spirit would come from the Father, something he told them, and it was something they heard from him. It came and they spoke in tongues.
Many people speak in tongues today who believe on him also.
Many people saw Jesus back in the day he was walking this earth in the flesh, his own earthly body, as our physical bodies are.

    > How come not even one of them wrote about seeing this Jesus? He supposedly fed thousands of people. Not one of those people can tell us a thing. Why?

Many people have seen him today in living visions and he’s communicated many things through them which enlighten us further in those things which the Bible has taught us. Those things they have received by his Spirit which the Father sent by the word of Christ, in his purposes, and for the sake of his name.

    > Buddhists have visions of Buddha, Hindus have visions of Krishna, Pastafarians have visions of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and so on. Why should I accept these visions as evidence that your religion is true when you won’t accept the visions adherents of other religions have as evidence that their religion is true? Now you should have known that your argument fails on those grounds without an atheist having to explain to you why it fails. This is a great example of how religion, especially Christianity narrows a person’s thinking to the point where they cannot see by themselves the valid criticisms of their faith

There will never be any proof in this world that someone who did in fact exist, did not, nor will there ever be found anywhere, any proof that one who does indeed exist, does not, for proof does not prove that which is not.
The gospel of Christ is the greatest truth that has ever been told and it will outlast any news that has ever been passed around

    > Wanna bet? Young people are rejecting Christianity en masse. There will be no one left to pass this superstition on to in just a few decades. The religion of one era is the mythology of the next and that is what has happened to the gospel. Dead in the water and sinking fast.

    >> Shouldn’t you have to prove Abraham actually existed before you make that claim? I guess not since you can’t prove any of the major figures in the Bible really existed. All taken on faith without a shred of evidence to support any of it. The greatest story ever sold.
Religion is called a “Faith” for a reason!

You make a perfectly valid point — all this theology is meaningless if you don’t have an underlying faith.

    > Yes and you people act like faith is a good thing because your Bible tells you so. The Bible says faith is a virtue and skepticism is a vice. This is a fine example of how the Bible’s teachings are the complete opposite of the truth. Skepticism is a virtue and we could not do science, we could not study Nature without a healthy dose of skepticism. And naturally because of this Bible believers hate and fear advancing science. The truth is that skepticism is a virtue and faith is not only a vice it is a horrible character flaw. Faith in Jesus makes people believe that they automatically have magical discernment skills when the truth is that their faith has eliminated their discernment abilities. The creationists believe they know more about biology then educated and employed biologists. The creationists believe they know more about geology, paleontology and cosmology than all of the educated and employed geologists, paleontologists and cosmologists in the world. Faith is Jesus leads to a kind of arrogance that is infinite and it is completely unfounded.

But, do the Jews go away if can’t prove Abraham existed? Do the Muslims? The Christians?
Theology is about understanding God and ourselves and the world we live in. And giving it meaning.

    > Why do we all have to walk lockstep with each other and pretend that our lives all have the same predetermined meaning? It seems obvious that life is inherently meaningless. This is not a bad thing. It simply means that each of us can define our own lives and give our lives whatever meaning and purpose we choose. If this concept frightens you then you are more than welcome to let other people tell you what meaning and purpose your life must have. But don’t expect any of us who have learned to think for ourselves to follow you.

Greg, you have stated openly that you support homosexual marriage and abortion. These are against both YHWH’s commandments and the testimony of Messiah. You can be interested in who is the physical seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and miss the opportunity to be a part of YHWH’s plan of salvation. False prophets have come up with the idea that a man can marry a man and that it is not murder to abort an unborn baby. Real love accepts YHWH’s commandments that these things that you support are abominable and are not allowed in Israel. Real faith in Y’shua detests homosexuality and murdering the unborn.

    > Here we have a fine example of one Christian telling someone else what they must believe and how they have to view important social issues. The Bible is hardly a “pro-life” book. Among various atrocities the Bible describes God approved ritual human sacrifice, infanticide and it describes a brutal ritual in which a suspected adulteress should be given an abortificant. In Hosea 13:16 God promises to dash to pieces the infants of Samaria and says that “their women with child shall be ripped up”. This God kills the unborn, including their pregnant mothers. In 2 Kings 15:16 God allows the pregnant women of Tappuah to be “ripped open”. Yet Christians have the unmitigated gall to claim that their Bible and their God are pro-life. God allows pregnant women to be murdered so where do Christians have any ground to claim abortion is wrong?

Your quest for knowledge in the area of who is of the seed of Abraham will gain you nothing but knowledge that you will be held accountable for in the day of judgement if you do not repent. You need to be very careful that you are not cut off from the olive tree like the multitudes of Israel were. They were broken off so that we could be grafted in. They will be grafted in again when they repent. We will be cut off if we do not repent.
Ro 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

    > Followed by a threat of unimaginable torture for not believing what one is told to believe. Greg you don’t need this nonsense and you certainly don’t need other people to tell you what you must believe or how you need to think about social issues. Bible believers have been on the wrong side of every social issue that has come up for 2000 years. Eventually they are forced to conform to society and then they will claim that they were never really on the wrong side of any social issue of scientific discovery or theory. In 5 years most Christians will support gay marriage, if hey don’t already, and in 10 years the Christians will be trying to take credit for it. History will take a very dim view of people like Michael Brown and the stance they took against freedom for everyone. Pay a visit to the Flying Spaghetti Monster website. I pray you will be touched by His noodley appendage.

  2. Greg said, “So, you too, have to be careful here. Misrepresenting your own opinion as the word of God is a grave thing.”

Dr. Brown insists that God directed him to make a stand against homosexuality. Do you believe this is true or or do you think Dr. Brown is misrepresenting his own opinion as the word of God?

  3. Van,

It wasn’t that long ago when men of science were mostly all within the Church so where did you get that concept from? Science and religion are not enemies and neither has science buried religion.

I’m not a young earth creationist, which you

Nothing wrong with carbon dating when it’s done according to protocol. It wasn’t.

  4. Dr. Brown,

Maybe you’d like to have Barrie Swortz on your show one day. He’s an Orthodox Jew who was the photographer for the STURP team in 1978 who investigated the shroud. He tells the story about what he’s learned.

    Certainly be interesting!

  5. Greg,

Here is a short response on you false claim that Paul was only condemning a certain type of homosexuality and that the Bible does not cover modern homosexual marriage. Hogwash!

Your supposed research has been refuted over and over on linguistic, contextual and even cultural grounds. The meanings of the words in scripture are to be understood by the context of the text and are not to have obscure meanings imported into them. Paul’s context is Biblical context and homosexuality is absolutely condemned in Scripture.

Le 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Le 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Your claim that Messiah would have dealt with it if it was important falls flat. There are many things that Messiah didn’t deal with that are important. And, in fact, He did deal with it when He said, quoting Genesis, “He made them male and female…the two shall be one flesh.” The obvious indication is that the one flesh relationship that we call marriage is always male and female. To deny this or subvert this perfectly clear testimony from scripture is gross error.

You may be sincere, but you are absolutely wrong and are helping people to loose their inheritance in the kingdom of YHWH. You are causing people to stumble and justifying sin…which means that you will be judged along with them. You are without excuse and sincerity will not suffice as good reason for your rejection of the truth.

    Ro 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse…
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools…
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves…
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
    28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

I third grade student would have no problem understanding the above passages. Why do you? Have you been given over to a reprobate mind? You take pleasure in those that do such things that are mentioned above and you justify their actions

Ro 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Ch. 2:1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that justifies: for wherein thou justifies another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that justifies doest the same things.
2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.
3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that justifies them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

It is time to wake up Greg. You have been lulled to spiritual sleep and we are shaking you.

2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

1 Th 5:7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Believers are not appointed to wrath, but if they do not wake up and repent they will partake of it.

Re 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

It is time to come out of the harlot system that you are in…or be judged with her.

You might want to check these two links out. They show that you swallowed homosexual agenda instead of accomplished research on the Biblical text.

This ought to help you also.
