  1. One thing I hate about religion is the way it narrows a person’s thinking. Dr. Brown seems to think if we just made abortions illegal women would not have them. Does anybody really think that would stop even one woman from getting an abortion who was really determined to get one? An average of 186 women die every day from botched abortions in the few countries in which abortions are still illegal. I believe this is the kind of holocaust and suffering many Christians would just love to bring upon our nation. I realize many Christians think their God is going to punish the U.S. for making abortions legal and so we should reverse the law. I think worrying about a God that if He exists stood by and watched the Holocaust and watches about 30,000 children starve to death every day is absurd.

  2. Boris,

It was hard to follow your logic because you jumbled a whole bunch of issue.

I, personally, am pro-choice because I believe women have the right to decide these difficult personal issues, not me.

Obviously, pro-lifers see it very differently. They are convinced that a two-cell, fertilized egg is fully human.

As for the bible — it’s not at all clear on the issue of abortion.

This is no surprise since abortion is a modern medical procedure outside of their scope of biblical-era understanding.

  3. “You Shall Not Murder.” 6th Commandment (Murder is the taking of innocent human life as opposed to killing for payment of a serious crime or in self defense.) I think that is quite clear but then again, people always seem to have a way of rationalizing the taking of human life. Today, it’s the fetish of a grown woman’s rights. Forget about the child.

The Declaration of Independence: “that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…” I wonder why Life was put first… I guess you have be alive before exercising one’s Liberty and Pursuing Happiness.

By the way, once an egg is fertilized it has the full set of human genes and is thus a iiving human being in development – just like a one or two year old. By the way, at which stage of development are we done?

  4. As a pro-life non-Christian, I want to encourage all of you to look deeply into this issue.
The show I mentioned on this program (in a call toward the end of this episode) is called Life Report. It’s a good place to start.
Life Report happens to have some pro-life haters and pro-choice fans. How could that be? Check it out.
