Does Doctrine Matter? And, Is Healing in the Atonement?

[Download MP3]

In the first hour, Dr. Brown discusses whether we are putting too much (or too little) emphasis on biblical doctrine, in light of the needs of the world surrounding us; in the second hour, Dr. Brown discusses healing in the atonement, especially in light of Christian rapper Shai Linne’s charge that is a seriously false doctrine. Listen live here 2-4 pm EST, and call into the show at (866) 348 7884 with your questions and comments.

Hour 1:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: Yes, let us major on the majors. Yes, let us have our doctrinal foundations put down strongly, but let us not divide where God does not divide. Let’s unite for the Great Commission!

Hour 2:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: Let us preach Jesus to a lost and dying world and let us exalt the Jesus of the scriptures and let us unite around who He is rather than the minor points on which we differ!

  1. Today’s show was very conflicted for me.

On one hand, I LOVED your counsel that Christians can honestly disagree on doctrines outside of the salvation.

But, I also have been heavily judged by the people here, including Dr. Brown, for my honest differences on non-salvific doctrines.

    Which is it?

  2. Greg Allen,

Stop complaining and answer the questions posed to you on the very thread on which you think that you are being “heavily judged”.

I have asked many questions that have gone unanswered by you and I have not judged your salvation at all. I have warned you and attempted to deal with your false assumptions and bad doctrine. I have tried to touch your heart and your mind. If you are really open as you claim, enter back into the dialogue.

    Shalom

  3. Concerning the “origin” of music… the sons of Cain were the ones who made the harp and David used those instruments which men who departed from God’s presence created.

  4. A false prophet, I think, is one who prophesies peace when God declares calamity, or calamity when God declares peace – it isn’t about making a wrong statement, per se.

  5. We are all parts of one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future. For us there is only one Lord, one faith , one baptism, and we all have the same God, and Father who is over us all and in us all, and living through every part of us. Ephesians 4: 4-6
    (living bible)

  6. Greg, we are all parts of one body, sometimes the toe screams to the brain someone is standing on my foot! even though we are all parts to one body, we still communicate to help out the other parts.
