What are some good books that teach biblical typology? Can you name some good authors? I don’t want to waste money or time. Thanks.
I have been listening to your show for almost two years probably just as long as I have been a Christian and appreciate the show in that I get to hear other peoples opinion about doctrine and social issues. Todays program was interesting primarly because I believe that the recent election reveals that our nation is greatly divided. I could not bring myself initially to vote for Romney and was going to vote for a third party candidate but when our president and the democratic party aligned themselves on the most clear cut issues that the Word of God calls sin. My no vote statistically for a third party went to get our president of office by voting for a candidate that although not sharing sound biblical doctrine, did not align himself with sexual immorality and murder of innocent blood. I believe that as Christians we should realize we are strangers in strange land and that our allegiance first and foremost is to our Lord Jesus. Who loves us and gave himself up for us. Amen.
There is only one race and that is the race of Adam, and if we as Christians know our scripture and believe it. We our all descendants of Noahs sons after the flood. Do we believe that account of scripture or do look at the color of our skin, or texture of our hair and actually believe that we are somehow a different “race”. I would like to recommend an excellent sermon and I hope that you would share with your listeners by Voddie Baucham called The table of Nations: Are there many races, or just one? It changed how I view everyone and to remember that we are the same and will be judged in righteousness the same. Thanks , Dr Brown. IN Christ alone, your brother, Joshua. Charlotte,NC
Daniel (I know you didn’t ask me !),it is important to choose a book written by someone not WINESKinCARCERATED by an serious error within the Body ; for instance,I have heard the ARK used as a ‘proof’ of Dispsensational PRE-Trib rapture,as well as eternal security Calvinism.
Fallible though David be (like you,me,Michael and everyone else),I think you can search from San Diego to Seattle and Boston to Miami, and fail to find a finer (typology-including) work than this :
I was looking at a book by David M. Levy — previewing it on Google Books — and it looks really nice.
(called: “The Tabernacle”)
Aside from that book, the vast majority I’ve seen has been trash — not even worth the effort to pick through it to see if there’s anything correct or good in it.
