If Jesus did appear in the Old Testament, I assume it was by a spiritual body much like angels who did appear unto men.
I suppose Jesus did appear that way at times for the purposes of the gospel which was hidden in a mystery. I believe God often spoke in mysteries.
(II Chron 11:7) I wonder if people understood in the days of David that the tower he dwelt in at Zion was something of a mystery about Christ, his strong tower. I often wonder if people knew the significance of the things they said as they spoke the things of the grace of God. I suppose at times they did yet I believe there was a fullness that was yet to be revealed.
I even wonder if Jesus appeared as Melchisedec.
Correction, it was I Chron 11:7 that mentions David living in the castle of Zion. It was there that the city was built that became known as the city of David.
