What about interviewing others too on this Call, who have examined its necessity and humility for the very fabric of their lives and ministries? Richard Foster, Dallas Willard, David Hazard, Howard Baker, James Houston, M.R. Mulholland, Eugene Peterson, Chas. Stanley, etc. Yeshua acted on the wholeness and affection of the Father for his own strategies of prayer. “Thinking, intending, and doing prayer transformed His Authority from heaven to earth” (J. Houston). Being in love with the God who is requires prayer, not just as a Call, but as a way of approaching life for living.
It’s so funny Dr. Brown, I’ve felt myself drifting away for the past few months, just allowing distractions in my life. Praying, but not from the heart… just the simple prayers we tend to memorize and repeat. This morning I felt an urgency to get on my knees and pray. I asked God for forgiveness and poured out my heart to Him. When I finished praying, I decided to go to my computer and listen to your radio program. I missed yesterday’s show. I saw your picture on the website and was led to pray for you as well(something I had never done quite that way). I envisioned you as God’s mighty warrior and prayed for your strength and protection as you fight this spiritual battle. When I scrolled down to see the topic, to my surprise, it was a call to prayer. From a person that has felt out of touch, to be in tune with God’s Spirit, really spoke to my heart. Oh how great is His love for us- how He continues to draw us to Himself!
