The Bible, American History, and Answers to Your Questions

[Download MP3]

Dr. Brown interviews Dr. Jerry Newcomb on the role of the Bible in American history and then takes your Bible questions! Listen live here 2-4 pm EST, and call into the show at (866) 348 7884 with your questions and comments!

Hour 1:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: If there is to be a turning back to God, a turning back to the Bible, it has to start with us. Those of us who are believers, those of us who claim the Bible is the word of God, how about us, getting back to the word!

Hour 2:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: We must regain our bearings as a nation, as a church. We must get on our faces, clear our head of the infiltration of the media and say God open my eyes to your truth and your truth alone.

  1. Mormonism is really strange. I thank God for His mercy that endures and for His Word which is true and is our strong foundation.

  2. Instead of so much teaching on love and forgiveness, shouldn’t we be hearing more on going to a brother first alone if we have a matter against him, something that is the cause of some present distress, and if he doesn’t hear us, then take two or three others with us, and if he still doesn’t hear, then tell it to the church?

What if, instead of so much teaching on love and forgiveness, we heard more on the ministry of reconciliation, the work that every Christian (those that are spiritual) should be involved with, hearing matters, verifying facts, pleading the cause when a cause is just, whenever there is a cause of some present distress, doing so without partiality and without hypocrisy, reconciling as much as possible by the gospel of Christ?

Maybe then when people begin to really get involved in all of that, maybe then, we should be hearing more about forgiveness, and walking in love, for what good is a horse without a cart, or a cart in front of a horse?

  3. Yes Ray, I agree. I believe the reconciliation process spoken of in Matt 18 is sorely lacking in the body of Christ.
