  4. For those of us who can’t afford expensive Bible software, we can learn to open a Bible and look for something good, and having found it, give God thanks for what it is, thus giving him praise. Thereby we can receive and be filled.
    We can be satisfied. Doing this daily we will be nourished. Growing up in him we can be led by the holy Spirit unto the kingdom above where our Lord is.

    Also, an inexpensive pocket electronic concordance is helpful to find verses which will help us along the way, often times God making some good connections for us with such help of the holy Spirit.

  10. i just went to logos.com. this is information OVERLOAD. i get like 2 billion products. i just want a simple bible with maybe a simple explanation of what is going, with really easy to use cross references.

    i tried some versions online – they are incredibly tedious and time consuming when looking at cross references. it would be really cool to see all the cross references on a single page. anybody got some easy to use cross referencing software?

    btw i highly recommend reading the bible while reading all cross references at the same time. it’s amazing.

    I am wondering how you can do this in the absence of a temple and its purification offerings. Maybe you can abstain from the fruit of the vine and let your hair grow, but it would seem impossible to be “nazirite” in the purely scriptural sense.

    I have been using Olive Tree Bible Software. It has multiple translations, maps and commentaries. You can open up two translations simultaneously and as you move through one, the other will show the parallel verses. It has dictionaries, commentaries etc.

    You can add notes to any verse, create categories for study and tags, do searches etc. Notes, tags etc. can be uploaded to a server so that if your device ever dies, you can recover everything.You can also tap on words and will get a pop-up displaying the word in the orignal languages if you purchase Bibles with Strongs.

    I don’t think it has quite the muscle that Logos has, but it also doesn’t have the price as well. You can purchase just the translations that you find useful. You can also build your library up slowly as you can afford it. You can get basic Bibles for 20 to 40 dollars. No payment plans necessary.

    You can be selective in terms of commentaries, dictionaries and the like. In a world of increasingly liberal seminaries and authors, I rather prefer to be selective about such resources. For example, a liberal dictionary may put a spin on words that favors a liberal translation. It works well with Ipad and Iphone devices.

    For online BlueletterBible.org is a good resource. You can search and see any passage in multiple translations including Greek and Hebrew. They also have an App for handheld devices.

  15. thx all. olive tree and online bible are new to me. i’ll try them both and keep the better one. I luv Blue letter bible but find it tedious sometimes.
