[Download MP3]

Dr. Brown interacts with a letter from a “gay Christian male” who feels Dr. Brown is hypocritical in his stances, then speaks with Pastor Gabe Rogers about the Marriage Amendment in North Carolina, then reflects on a painful email received about a pastor who has lost his moral compass.

Hour 1:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: There really is freedom in deliverance in Jesus. There really are people who have come out of homosexuality and have found freedom, wholeness, and even blessed heterosexual relationships, in Jesus. With God all things are possible!

Hour 2:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: We stand tall for what is right, here in North Carolina. We will stand up for family and marriage. Let the critics critisize. We, by God’s grace, will do what is right!

Top Ten Gay Marriage False “Facts” Part 1 VOR Article by Frank Turek

When one judge overturned the will of more then seven million Californians last week in Perry vs. Schwarzenegger, he listed 80 supposed “findings of fact” (FF) as evidence that Proposition 8 violates the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution. Many of those 80 findings are not facts at all. […]

A Queer Thing Happened to America by Dr. Brown: A Queer Thing Happened to America chronicles the amazing transformation of America over the last forty years, literally, from Stonewall Inn to the White House, and addresses the question head-on: Is there really a gay agenda, or is it a fiction of the religious right? Written in a lively and compelling style, but backed with massive research and extensive interaction with the GLBT community, this forthright and yet compassionate book looks at the extraordinary impact gay activism has had on American society.

  1. Had an interesting interaction with a nongay person on a blog which was pro-Day of Silence…although a supporter of this day, this man did share some of his long experience with gay activists, some very anti-Christian; though he writes that the extreme elements are repudiated by the whole community in general. One of his interesting points was that he knows of ex-gays who were told by some of those extremists that if they were to go public with their stories (of becoming former homosexuals), their lives would be in danger. He was careful, though, to make it clear that most do not or will not go to those lengths and they are seen as the fringe, and not representative of the whole.

  2. Dr. Brown,
First I want to say that I’m a new listener, about 2 weeks, and thank you for speaking and teaching truth from the Bible. Last night I was listing on-line to your segment about the e-mail from Gary and then your conversation with him when he called it. It really touched my heart and blessed me. With it still on my heart, I’ve been reminded this morning of what the Lord Jesus saved me from and think it ties into what you and Gary talked about. Quickly, about 8-1/2 years ago I was a divorced alcoholic. The guys that asked me out wanted one thing and with some drinks, I gave in. Then God spoke a word over me and I chose life. I dedicated my life to Jesus Christ and submitted to His will. Then I realized that I didn’t trust men or myself so I asked God to close my eyes and theirs to avoid sinful thoughts that could turn to action. Praise God, He did. Days turned into weeks, months and now years living sober and celibate (since I am not married). He took the desire to drink & lust away when I purposed in my heart and one day at a time said no to the temptations. Now, I do not define myself by my past sins. He has set me free, thank You Lord! I am not an alcoholic, I am a follower of Jesus Christ and have His joy and peace. He is faithful & true to His Word, every one. His Word plainly says in Galatians 5 that among others, those sexually immoral or drunkards will not inherit the kingdom of God. I used to be in those camps. By His grace, I was set free by the Son. No longer slave to sin, He enables me to walk blamelessly before Him for His glory!(though occasionally sinning and repenting)
It is not becoming of a child of the Most High God to live in habitual sin, in defiance to His Word. There can be no intimacy with Him when we live in darkness. Praise God, He Himself transforms us and makes us new creations! So, I humbly thank you for speaking truth and Gary for being so transparent.
    The Lord bless you,
    Jane

  3. Alas, this conversation about a state’s constitutional amendment fails to take up constitutional law, civil law, court cases, marriage history, politics, sociology, or business considerations.

Are we listeners to be content with simplistic and frustratingly inappropriate analogies to electricity (e.g. “female socket fits male plug”)? Listeners should feel short-changed by a conversation that skirts considerations of real human anatomy and psychology. It is common knowledge that sexual activity between individuals of the same gender is both satisfying and practicable when same-sex attraction is in play. Homosexual sex has worked for as long as humans have been humans. It works for dolphins. It works for giraffes.

This discussion of the North Carolina’s Amendment One bill failed to even analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the state’s current law banning same-sex marriage.

Fear of the unknown, dismissal of the known… So many issues left untouched…

  4. This discussion of North Carolina’s Amendment One bill does not analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the state’s current law banning same-sex marriage. Also missing in this conversation about the state’s constitutional amendment are any mention of constitutional law, civil law, recent court cases, marriage history, politics, sociology, health department statistics, or business considerations.

Are we listeners to be content with insultingly simplistic and frustratingly inappropriate analogies to electricity (e.g. “female socket fits male plug”)? Listeners should feel short-changed by a conversation that skirts considerations of real human anatomy and psychology. It is common knowledge that sexual activity between individuals of the same gender is both satisfying and practicable when same-sex attraction is in play. Homosexual sex works just fine for humans, for dolphins, giraffes, penguins and the list goes on to several hundred species.

The arguments presented in this discussion can be summed up as fear of the unknown and dismissal of the known. Sorry, but fear and ignorance make poor public policy.

  5. Albert, actually, you should look in the mirror and ask yourself if your post here is the result of fear and ignorance. Generally speaking, when people make accusations like this, it’s because they have no substance to their arguments, so it’s best to avoid this kind of rhetoric and focus on the real issues. Feel free to call into the radio show to air your differences. Your call will be quite welcome. As for the “male-female” analogy, yes, when it comes to biological compatibility, God designed men for women and women for men for a host of reasons. It goes far beyond the sexual act.

I do hope you will call the show to discuss these issues.

  6. Sorry Mr. Brown, but you’ve shown so little intellectual integrity that hearing you give further discussion to North Carolina’s proposed marriage amendment would not be worth your audience’s time. In glossing over the substance of my critique, you give further proof of the paucity of your fear-mongering arguments.

  7. Albert, how about writing a post without an attack? Your first one accuses me of basing my positions on fear and ignorance; this one accuses me of showing “so little intellectual integrity.” And yet I’m the one refusing to engage in serious discussion? Can you really be serious? Drop the baseless, ad hominem attacks and then we can have a dialogue.

And if you’re serious about this (and I assume you’ve gone carefully through my 700 page, carefully documented book A Queer Thing Happened to America), let’s start there: Are men and women uniquely designed and fitted for sexual union and reproduction?

I do hope you’ll respond, and again, you’ll have to step higher and abandon the standard rhetoric unless your goal is to disqualify yourself completely in the eyes of those who read this blog. You’re already coming perilously close.

  8. I would to ask a question of those who knows and really believe their bible. When the Prophet Elijah call down fire from heaven God answer, right?. And when Elijah was beheading them, talking about the false prophets who was causing the people to worship the statue Dag-an false God,
do you think God approve? or, don’t you think God could stop him from taking them out? but he didn’t. There’s no more patient left in me about certain subject. Not even to discus the matter,God forgive me I’m finish.
