A Queer Thing Happened to America by Dr. Brown: A Queer Thing Happened to America chronicles the amazing transformation of America over the last forty years, literally, from Stonewall Inn to the White House, and addresses the question head-on: Is there really a gay agenda, or is it a fiction of the religious right? Written in a lively and compelling style, but backed with massive research and extensive interaction with the GLBT community, this forthright and yet compassionate book looks at the extraordinary impact gay activism has had on American society.

  1. BTW.. The pastor in Iran is Yousef Nadarkhani, no relation to Dr. Michael Yousef. Dr. Michael Yousef is Lebanese and Yousef Nadarkhani is Iranian.

As far as I know there is no update on him. He is in prison because he converted from Islam to Christianity. He’s able to be freed from prison if he says the shahada/converting back to Islam. But, as far as being put to death or anything like that I am not sure what the updates are on him.

  2. Papias said,

“But I shall not hesitate also to put down for you along with my interpretations whatsoever things I have at any time learned carefully from the elders and carefully remembered, guaranteeing their truth. For I did not, like the multitude, take pleasure in those that speak much, but in those that teach the truth; not in those that relate strange commandments, but in those that deliver the commandments given by the Lord to faith, and springing from the truth itself. If, then, any one came, who had been a follower of the elders, I questioned him in regard to the words of the elders — what Andrew or what Peter said, or what was said by Philip, or by Thomas, or by James, or by John, or by Matthew, or by any other of the disciples of the Lord, and what things Aristion and the overseer John, the disciples of the Lord, say. For I did not think that what was to be gotten from the books would profit me as much as what came from the living and abiding voice.”

    He held that

“There will be a period of some thousand years after the resurrection of the dead, and that the kingdom of Christ will be set up in material form on this very earth.”

So I say that is the correct Apostolic position.
    Eusibius said that,

“It was due to him that so many of the Church Fathers after him adopted a like opinion, urging in their own support the antiquity of the man; as for instance Irenæus and any one else that may have proclaimed similar views.”

  3. Though I would never choose to be an instrument against Israel–we can look to history to see what happens to them(though why they seem to be used that way and then punished for that Ive yet to understand)–I am conflicted that by defending Israel I am not standing in the way of Gods judgement. Maybe like standing up for those that were making golden idols as opposed to Moses.

  4. Ive no faith in this country or the West in general anymore. It is rather obvious, with the abandonment of anything with G-O-D in it, the West is heading to the bottom fast. I look to the High points in Jewish history as reason to support Israel and believe those days will return.

Supporting Israel to me is the hope of a younger brother to see his older brother return. I suppose that is patronising to some but thats how Ive always looked at it. The oldest deserves it because much was learned and given from them. We know God has punished Israel in the past. I just dont want to be in the path of that either.

  5. Hello Dr B and the LOF team:

Where is the podcast/mp3, for this programme, please?

For once, I am actually up-to-date on the shows, and the little Download message isn’t there!

  6. Dr. Brown.
Thank you for a great show, it´s always a pleasure to listen to you.

There was a caller who was asking you about Alfa and Omege, quoting from the Book of Revelations. Your answer was that it is a phrase, used only in the New Testament and God does not speak of himself in the Hebrew Bible as the Alef Tav or the Alfa and Omega, which is true.

But still YHWH God speaks of himself as “The First and The Last” in the Hebrew Bible as in Isaiah 41.4 for example. Does that verse not hold the same meaning as the phrase in Revelation 21.6?

    Isiah 41.4
“Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.”

    Revelation 21.6
“And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.”

  7. I just glanced at it and this is NOT the goal of translation, nor can it be considered good (let alone the best!). It is totally mechanical and not a good rendering of the source language (Hebrew) into the target language (English).

  8. When I first seriously began examining Hebrew texts @ 15 years ago I quickly found many variant interpretations that were questioned or dismissed by the local A of G leaders. The study of the ‘best’ translation goes back to the early Church; so tradition plays a big part as to what is ‘accepted’ or not. This is why private study is shoved aside to the extreme corners of the virtual cathedrals; but it cannot preclude individual research, as long as you learn not to try too much to publish what you have found. “Under the radar” can extend even to small intercessory internet groups for a decade or more. Jesus had none of the normal credentials, except as a prophet and perhaps a rural rabbi. It was the miracles that set him apart in the eyes of the world (kosher and goy).
    In Him, Ron M.
