Why Israel’s Preservation and Salvation Should Matter to all Believers

[Download MP3]

Should all Christians care about Israel? Is Israel’s preservation and salvation of importance to all believers? Dr. Brown provides Biblical and historical responses that say the answer to all these questions is “Yes.”

Hour 1:
Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: God is a covenant keeping God. What God says He will do, He will do, and if God broke His promises to Israel, He could break His promises to the church. Jesus yet awaits a Jewish Jerusalem that will welcome Him back to earth.
Hour 2:
Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: Yes, there are plenty of areas where we have room for disagreement, and there is difference within the body. I urge all of you to ask for God’s heart for the lost sheep of the house of Israel. I believe this is something He wants to give to everyone.

  1. Dr. Brown,

The Think It Thru episodes and other material on your website really helped my wife understand why Israel is so important to me and to my walk with Yeshua. Your many articles have also helped my wife understand why we need to understand and know about Shabbat and the Feasts. We are grateful for the gifts God has given you and for the work you put into your global ministry.

Is there more Think It Thru episodes in the works?

    Important in what way?

And are you SDA, Sabbath keeper? If yes, on what basis?

  3. I think Christians need to get a plan ready to receive Jews out of Israel. Not now, but for a time to come. Jews sent their children away from the Nazis to escape, but not everyone made it out. But if the Muslim nations ever surround Israel, Christian nations should be ready to receive the Jews or come to fight to defend Israel.

  4. @Eric, I don’t believe Israel will be safe until the Messiah comes. I see a time when Israel will be fleeing in different directions to get away. I see very dark times ahead, before the light of Messiah shines bright.

  5. Hello,I am only an unregenerate Gentile who has some familiarity with Holy Scripture,as well as with some matters (and wineskins) that (intentionally or more likely, unintentionally) serve to desalinate and disempower (and leave unprepared) the British and American contingent of the Bride. That said,I want to call attention to a wonderful, nutricious talk by David Pawson :
David Pawson knows the Holy Spirit,PENTECOSTALLY,AND the Holy Scriptures,OBJECTIVELY. (Alas, such men, with THAT COMBINATION,seem rather thin on the ground.) David has had an increasing focus on Israel in recent years – here is a link to a FREE talk he gave at IHOP,in May 2011,on ‘The Church and Israel’. The talk lasts for one hour, and can be listened to in one go,or bit by bit, whenever you have time.

  6. Chuck,

Those are great questions. No, I am not SDA, but I have been keeping Shabbat for about 3 years now. Israel is important, Shabbat is important and the set Feast are important, because they are important to God. I’m NOT in accordance with the One Law Movement that some Hebrew Roots Movement leaders teach, but understand it much like Dr. Brown explains it; it depends on your calling and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

When all this surfaced in my life, it was not because I was surrounded by Messianic believers or by HRM followers, it was simply the leading of the Holy Spirit that lead me to start studying Hebrew and to learn more about the Hebrew culture.

I came to faith in Yeshua in 2005, and the more I read the Bible and my relationship with Messiah developed, He led me to these things. The more I grew in my walk with God, it became apparent to me that Christianity, today, has more of a Greek and Roman influence than a Hebrew influence. That did not seem right to me, given what I had read so far in the Bible. Now God has been taking me on a path to learn and rediscover the Hebrew influence of Christianity.

My walk with Christ has been strengthened as I’ve remained sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Chuck, and when I say sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, I don’t just mean on matters that pertain to Israel, Shabbat and the Feasts, but on everything, such as caring for the widow, the orphan, and not being contaminated by the world (James 1:27). I have been blessed and my family continues to be blessed. Not by power, or might, but by the Spirit.

  7. Chuck,

One very important thing that God taught me is how to pray and fast. Everytime that I have felt deceived or uneasy about what someone teaches, I have been led to pray and fast and meditate on Isaiah 58.

There are a lot of things being taught out there, lots of teachers of this and of that. It is easy to be deceived if we are not abiding with Christ, praying and fasting, allowing Him to lead us and give us discernment. The Holy Spirit is faithful.

Thank you for the questions Chuck. Keep tuning in to Dr. Browns shows and look at some of the Think It Thru videos, also he has many great articles. Dr. Brown is a man of God. He has a shepherd’s heart, he cares about people, just like my wife says.
