It is always very disturbing to hear of children and innocent people being taken advantage of by others that are in power and/or looked up to. That it happens in the world is problematic enough. That it happens in the Church is a sign of the times that we live in.
And because lawlessness shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. (Mat. 24:12)
I guess that we would fall into the same kinds of sin, except for the power of the grace of Yahweh in our lives.
Disregard for Yahweh’s instructions has brought on much heartlessness toward the helpless. Unbridled lust, even in the church, has become more prevalent since the easy grace message has rendered living by the rules of scripture a taboo topic. The whole gospel is not being preached. The kingdom of heaven is more than just getting into heaven. Actually we won’t get in if we do not do the will of the Father in heaven. We will hear, “Depart from me you workers of lawlessness.” even though we have prophesied and done miracles and said, “Lord, lord.” if we allow our love to grow cold. (Mat.7:21-23)
But there is hope if we return and do the first works.
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. (Rev. 2:4-5)

The no rules gospel and workless faith of our modern times should take warning. For we will all be rewarded according to our works and those that do not take care to do Yahweh’s commandments will not be allowed in. They will hear “Depart from me you workers of lawlessness.”
It is easy to stand in judgment of child abusers and overt criminality. It is also easy to let ourselves off the hook on what we consider to be “little things.” This is not righteous judgment.
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. (Luke 16:10)
Yahweh help us all.
I am disturbed that you appear to be willing to dance so close to breaking a commandment (bearing false witness) in order to rile your audience…and I’m guessing, eventually to sell your books.
You appear to be trying to tie together, in the minds of your listeners, homosexuality and pedophilia. The vast majority of pedophiles are heterosexual men, and an honest person would have reviewed the research and reported this. The reason pedophilia and homosexuality are not tied together in the media is that they are different issues. Attraction to the same gender is not the same as addiction to sex tied to the power of one’s position.
For you to bind these two together, the latter being a despicable, scarring crime, in the minds of your listeners really does sound like bearing false witness to me.
Seems to me it’s not about lawlessness, since Jesus did away with the law by fulfilling it in every way. We are dead to sin and to the law, by which sin is known. We are taught by grace, not laws – led by the Holy Spirit, not by law.
It’s time to stop the judgment and let it go. Love all God’s creation. Love all people for whom He bled and died. Christ reconciled the world and took away the sins of world. If sin remains, He failed. Are you saying He failed?
Or isn’t it time to repent? Aren’t we better than this? Do you read what you say? Do you listen to it? It makes me cringe, and I’ve walked with Jesus for 37 years.
Jim, thanks for sharing your concern, although your judgments as to why I do what I do are misguided.
First, I have said over and over in writing and on the air that I do NOT believe that most homosexuals are pedophiles, and I stated clearly in an article earlier today that “To be clear, I personally believe that the great majority of homosexual men also deplore Sandusky’s alleged acts.”

We’d better stop claiming them as part of our heritage unless we are broadening our concept of what it means to be gay today.” (There is, of course, dispute about the sexuality of some of these men on the list, but if, in fact, they were homosexual, they were also pederasts.)
