Sorting Out the Middle East Conflict

[Download MP3]
Join Dr. Brown as he unfolds the sources of the continuing conflict between Israel and the surrounding Arab world, and the importance of supporting Israel against its enemies.

Hour 1:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: God said plainly through the prophets that as long as heaven and earth existed, as long as the universe was still standing and the sun and moon were still shining, His promise to Israel will endure. Israel will endure as a nation. I take God seriously.

Hour 2:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: Jesus, who will return to the earth, Yeshua the King, is the Lion of the tribe of Judah. He is a man, and He is a Jewish man, with a divine nature; in other words, the One returning to establish His kingdom in Jerusalem is Himself a glorified Jew!

  1. Dr. Brown – Most of what you said is true. The problem with the Palestinian / Israel is the Islamic texts in the Qur’an and the Hadith that say that they must fight the Jews until the day of resurrection, etc. (Hamas quotes this in their charter.) The Muslims hatred is based on their religion.

Yes, God gave the land to the Jewish people – Genesis 12, 13, 15, etc.
Yet, God also expelled them from the land in the Babylonian captivity (586-515 BC) and 70 AD/ 135 AD. Both times were God’s judgement/chastisement.

They returned after the 70 year exile (605 BC – 586 (destruction of the temple and Jerusalem) – 536/ 515 BC (Ezra, Nehemiah)

The Romans destroyed the temple in 70 AD, and I think one million 500,000 Jews were killed by the wars of the Romans vs. Jews in 66 – 73 AD, ending with Mesada, where 400 Jews committed suicide.

135 A.D. – Bar Kokhba rebellion many other Jews were killed and scattered to many nations.

The Romans were the main peoples after that in the land, until the Roman Empire became Christian, right ? Constantine in 312-380 AD. (Theodosius)

380 AD – Theodosius made Christianity the state religion. It was Byzantine/Greek until the Arab Muslim conquests in 634-638 – Jerusalem was conquered by the Arab Muslims under Omar, the second Khalif of Islam. Al Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock were built after that – 691 AD.

Most of the people in the land were Byzantine Christian, then Muslim (Arabs) after 634 AD.

Then the Crusades, then Muslim Mamlooks, then Seljuk Turks, then the Ottoman Turks. ( 1517-1917, end of World War I.)

Even though it is true that there was no Palestinian state of a country or political entity, they were under the Ottoman Turks ( the Islamic Khalifate up until the end of World War 1; most of the peoples in the land from 634 until 1800s were Arabs and Turks, right?

You are right that Jews go back farther than the Arabs, but it does seem like the numbers of Muslims was more from 634-1800s.

Jews were there, (most were killed and scattered by Romans, 70 AD, 135 AD, right?) but it seems that they were few in number from 135 AD to 1800s – most of the Jews were killed and scattered to other countries – then they started coming back to the land of Israel in 1880s – 1948. (Hertzl, etc.)

The Seljuk Turks, the Mamlooks (Muslims, Turks, Egyptians), and then Ottoman Turks were the political rulers, even thought it was not technically “Palestine” ( you are right on that), it was still mostly Muslim right?

Jesus interpreted the Holy Spirit and being born again in John 3:1-14 as what was in Ezekiel 36. Seems that Jesus interprets Ezekiel 36 as being born again, and all the first Christians were Jews – Messianic Jews like yourself, which is wonderful.

  2. Dr. Brown,
Have you read Blood Brothers, by Elias Chacour? and if you have, what do you think of it?

Have you read Whose Promised Land by Colin Chapman, and, if you have, what do you think of it?

I have read these 2 books and also:
Myths and Facts, by Mitchell Bard
From Time Immemorial by Joan Peters
Who Owns the Land? by Stanley Ellisen

Still, the whole issue is difficult.
