Is Israel today really a fulfillment of prophecy, or is this a sentimental perspective without scriptural foundations?
Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: God is working in the Earth so that the whole world might know that He is the One True God, in such a way that the mouths of the critics and skeptics will be shut, and is ultimately working among the people of Israel!
Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: God has sworn an oath, giving unconditional promises to Israel, which reflect the very nature of God. God, who has given those promises, will not break them. Israel shall be saved and fully restored!

Has God Forsaken His People? Online Article by Dr. Brown:
Some things are non-negotiable. God’s covenant with Israel is one of them. How could He have made Himself more clear?
He gave His oath to Abram, and reiterated it six more times to Abraham, to his son Isaac and to his grandson Jacob. On one occasion, “When God made His promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for Him to swear by, He swore by Himself” (Heb. 6:13).
Why did God speak so decisively? It was because He “wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, [so] He confirmed[…]
How To Pray For Israel And The Middle East online article by Dr. Brown:
As there is a temporary break in the hostilities in the Middle East, now is a good time to stop and ask: How should we pray for crises such as this? Should we pray for God to protect the Jewish people from terrorist attacks and for Israel’s military efforts to succeed, or should we pray that God will have mercy on everyone involved – Muslim and Jew alike – bringing a permanent end to all bloodshed? Should we pray for lasting peace to come to the region, or should we pray for the Lord’s […]
Psalm 105 (NKJV)
9 The covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac,
10 And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the allotment of your inheritance,”
12 When they were few in number, indeed very few, and strangers in it.
13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people,
14 He permitted no one to do them wrong; yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes,
15 Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.”
For I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’
Jesus speaking to Jewish leadership, saying that Jerusalem will not see Him again until they welcome Him with the words “baruch haba b’shem adonai”, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. This surely calls for a Jewish Jerusalem.
In Ezekiel 36 God promises that one day He would take the Jewish people out from all of the nations and bring them back to the land. In Ezekiel 37 God speaks of dry bones coming back to life. I believe that modern day Isreal is the dry bones still waiting for the breath of God to breathe upon them for their hearts to turn to Jesus.
So if we agree that the ultimate fulfillment of the Gospel message regarding the restorarion of Israel and its people is still in the FUTURE, when Christ returns, why do so many teach that the present [unconverted] nation of Israel is somehow blessed, the chosen people of God? And that all nations, especially the U.S.A. have some sort of divinely commanded commitment to support it?
Remember what the Lord said to Abraham?
In Genesis 12:3
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”
I believe Israel being restored as a nation since 1948 is A PROPHECY FULFILLED.
Remember what the Apostle Paul says in Gal 3.29:
Does the present Jewish nation of Israel “belong to Messiah”?
The “restoration” of which the Bible talks about is the Gospel message about the COMING Kingdom of God OVER THE WHOLE OF THE EARTH.
Israel being restore now is a fulfilled Prophecy.
However, it is a process of restoration to be completed when Yeshua Ha Mashiach Ben Ha Elohim will rule and rein with His people in Israel. Say…”that would be me”
How is it a “fulfilled prophecy” when Messiah has not even shown up to gather up his people and establish God’s Kingdom from Jerusalem?
In light of your Gal 3.29 quotation, I would be very interested in your take of
Gal 3.29 defines who the “offspring” are. Later referred to as [the international] “Israel of God” in Gal 6.16.
So “we” [Christians] are the “offspring”…are we not? If so, have WE gotten “the land” [i.e., Kingdom of God] yet?
Seriously now. How can you question that the restoration of Israel is not a Prophecy Fulfilled?
Israel is the only Nation ever bought back to renewal, brought back into restoration, brought back to life ever in history. No other nation has been ever rebirth before, only Israel.
Jesus spoke of this Prophecy by using the parable of the fig tree. Was that what you were waiting for me to say. To speak about the fig tree?
Matthew 24:32-34* Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer [is] nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, [even] at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
All I know is what the NT writers say. If we are not presently seeing Jesus sitting on the throne of his “father David”, the prophecies from the OT to the NT regarding the coming KOG have yet to be fulfilled.
Scripture promises to Abraham AND his descendants that they would get the land…
Has our “father Abraham” received these things?
How about this, Jesus says that believers “will see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God” [Luke 13.28]. Where are they?
All the fig tree parable points to is to be prepared of the times and seasons of all those “signs” mentioned in Mat 24.
PS: where is the “Messianic banquet” that Jesus speaks of in Mat 8.11?
Yes, some of the Jews have returned to the Middle East, but these things are obviously still in the future. As is the coming of the Son of Man who will put all things right with this present evil age!
As kindly as I can state this – I sense some confusion in your idea about the promises made to a physical seed of Abraham vs. believers today being counted as a spiritual offspring of Abraham who put their FAITH in Christ (because Abraham was justified by FAITH, and he was the leader of those who would come along later (you and me), who would also be justified by FAITH).
The Church today has not REPLACED physical Israel. If that were the case, Apostle Paul would be guilty of serious INCOMPETENCE as an inspired writer when he says:
If you and I were the new physical seed of Abraham, then Paul becomes redundant! “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” 2 Cor 1:20
His promises to His earthly people will literally be fulfilled – consider Isaiah’s prophesy:
I believe that the regathering in 1948 was the start of the fulfilment of God’s promise to a literal Israel. The day is not far (prophetically) when she will:
My heart breaks for that day – yes it will mean the day of Jacob’s trouble (hence the sorrow), but all of my being yearns and longs for the day when she (national Israel) will recognize her Messiah. I long for that day to come, and I morn for it to come. Even so come Lord Jesus!
Like I wrote in my previous post #7 that there is a process taken place in the complete restoration of Israel. There is more than 1 PROPHECY of Israel being restored and completed. The 1st PROPHECY is to bring Israel back as a nation again. Which has happened. Praise God.
We are waiting for the complete fulfillment of Israel to come to pass.
My question is this. Did the Jewish people know that Israel was going to be rebirth or restored again by understanding or reading the OT scriptures?
So, Goldberg or Yisroel if you happen to read this, can you please answer that question for me.
Or Eliyahu can answer it too, or Dr Brown.
Yes, promises WILL BE [future] to all of God’s household which includes “Jew, Gentile, Greek…men/women”.
And yes, on the day when the lord Messiah comes back it will be joyous for his people and a sad day for those who did not accept him. So let’s keep praying not only for present Israel but FOR ALL PEOPLES.
Since God wants all people to come to an exact knowledge of the truth.
To James or Chuck,
How do you quote in the black background? Can you tell me how to do this?
Thanks guys. 🙂
Agree – FOR ALL PEOPLE – Yes!
What Dr. Brown is trying to do is at least set the record straight – that I as a gentile and my gentile brothers and sisters are guilty of condemning Israel into the rubbish heap of prophetic history – where as the truth remains that Jesus the Christ is a Jewish Messiah, about whom Matthew states that “…he will save his people from their sins” – and as Apostle Paul reminds us gentiles not to boast but to remember that we are but “grafted in”.
When my friends in Israel tell me about their faith in Messiah and they explain to me passages from Scripture, I cry out – saying Yes, he gets it! Praise the Lord! He gets it!!!!
May we never forget Paul’s statement that he is – “not ashamed of the gospel, for it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek”.
Type things within
remember to take out the extra space within the that I put in there.
@ Debbie, this site won’t let me publish the tags here but go Here for your answer.
Chuck, who should the USA support? Saudi Arabia, Iran? Are they in danger of being whipped off the map or is Israel? Should the USA kick against the Goads? Isn’t God Sovergegin? Would Israel exist had he not allowed it to? Do we need to go into Israel’s war for independance, or the 6 day war or any of the other wars they have had to fight against insermountable odds and yet have still prevailed? Copme on Man you’re grasping at straws… God promised the land to the the Jews he promised to return to a Jewish held Land, and has told us that he returns them to the Land for his sake, not because of righteousness on their part. It’s a sign of the times. Now Life could go on like this for another 200 years or 1,000 (although I’m doubtful it will) before Jesus returns But the fact is that Jesus said he would return to a Jewish Israel.
Governments will be governments. God sets them up and tears them down. We, on the other hand, as Christians, are looking forward to a better government from heaven. We have plenty of work trying to persuade others to the sound doctrine of the lord Messiah Jesus, don’t you think?
Again, the question we should be exploring is…Who is the true Israel of God and its citizens?
Albertus Pieters – no friend of the pre-Mil position by any stretch of imagination – made a very interesting and a very good comment in September of 1934 which will, perhaps be of help:
It seems to me that prophecies in scripture may be fullfilled in one way and then later in another, a more fuller fulfilling.
Isn’t it possible that some scriptures are being fulfilled in part?
Good point. That is what Colossians 2 would indicate regarding the Holy days commanded in scripture.
16 Let no one, then, judge you in eating or in drinking, or in respect of a feast, or of a new moon, or of sabbaths,
17 which are a shadow of the coming things, and the body of the Christ;
Though we have seen some fulfilments of some of these things they are (present tense) a shadow of things that are still coming and a shadow of the body of Messiah.
Taken together, the Feasts of YHWH are a perfectly, painted picture of His betrothal and wedding to us. This is why we are not to allow men, but scripture only tell us how to celebrate/respect them. Just thought you would be interested.
??Matthew 24:34 is talking about.”Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. “If it is talking about Israel 2000years ago, those things didnt even begin. The gospel was not preached to the whole world,Yes they flee out of Judea,it was in 70AD,but it was not the worse thing ever happen to jews and imediatly after that Jesus didnt return…anyway i hope ill get my answear. It makes sence,”All these [are] the beginning of sorrows”,than “the fleeing out of Judea, the tribulation(the real pain),wich will take place after the beginning of the sorrows prooves that jews need to return back to there land for this prophecy to be fulfilled, because if it happened in 70AD than Jesus was supposed to imediatly return wich didnt happen, but now since jewish people are back we are waiting to see those events and after that final event of tribulation Jesus should return. But once it gets to this “fig tree parable”and “This generation should not pass”it all gets messed up…
Chuck, What you seem to cite are the scriptures for a realized future fulfillment. Peter told the chosen nation, Israel, when they would again see the Messiah, and the promised restoration–according to the Prophets of Old (Acts 3:21). So, Jesus is resident in heaven until the end game realities, some of which you have mentioned. You have left out significant stage setting restorations, including the regathering of the people a second times from the
nations into which they were scattered, the MT
24 setting for the Return and feast cited, the
trimming of one’s lamp in preparation for
the announcement, and so on. The end of the promises to be fulfilled, are not those now completed, and being completed setting the stage for those you have cited.
So, to clear any confusion of what the present restoration of Israel means, please read the prophets of Old, according to Acts 3:21. Israel is promised, as has happened, restored in her Land in an unconverted state. Ezkl. 36:24-28; 11:16-20; 39:25, 37-29; Jer. 32:37-41; 33:7-9; Isa. 11: 11-16. As we are among those who have seen these occur, we can expect the kind of redemption, in time, surrounding the realities in play of the regathering. It is, the final warning to the nations, that redemption now has shifted in historical focus to the Land where the Promise, according to Peter (read his letters and his speeces to Israel)will include the resotration of all things promised of old.
The times in which we live then, sober our spirits to expectancy, obedience, and holy regard of the coming One.
Dr. Brown has often talked about the Messiah of Israel having the same or similar mission to people of Israel. With this topic there is something that astounds me. Some first century Jews rejected (did not see as a fulfilment of prophesy) Yeshua because he didn’t do everything the scriptures say the Messiah will do. It just wasn’t EPIC enough. He didn’t bring all the Jews back and restore the kingdom and usher in a utopian age. So they didn’t see him as a fulfilment of prophesy. Christians would say they lacked faith and didn’t see God moving because God was starting small. Well Modern Israel is JUST like the first coming of Messiah, it isn’t epic. Yes, something has happened, but it isn’t on the scale people are or were expecting, so some Christians reject it. Interesting huh, would these same Christians have rejected Yeshua when he came, because he wasn’t epic enough? The first coming of Messiah corresponds to the 1948 creation of the modern state, and the second coming of Messiah corresponds to all the twelve tribes being placed in their territories and all of them followed God whole heartedly. Interesting isn’t it?
It is so clear how compassionate Our Christ Jesus ( Our God ) who created the heavens and the earth is towards all…AND towards His firstborn… “as in” the future to come.
Read it for yourself and please… let us all, be blessed by His love, Mercy, and grace He has for everyone! As Our Mighty God who loves in His way ( pure and Holy) we can not relate.
AS It is written: Zech.12:9-14 13:6 14:9 14:16 14:20 None of these things have came to pass. It’s that ” simple.”
The best way for anyone in question…> concerning truth, and or Israels future or anything… is to ask the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus. He tells us to do that. Listen to Him.
Ask Him to show you. He wil reveal all truths in His Holy Book. Trust in His Spirit, and He will teach you all things. He does. He’s God. Thank God.( smiles)
Not for free is their motto TGIF – ‘Thank God It’s Friday.’ They love the weekends, when they can go do the things they really want to do.
What we actually learn, from the given list of circumstances, determines whether we become increasingly powerless or higher powerful.
To David and other Jewish people who have not had the defining moment that Jesus the Christ is the son of God.
To this I say why do the demons on the times Jesus was with his disciples and even now with people getting delivered from demon possession is facts the demons have said Jesus what have you to with us Son of God and Demons also were coming out of many, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But rebuking them, He would not allow them to speak, because they knew Him to be the Christ.
