How do we know if we are prepared for the return of Jesus? How can Calvinists and Arminians agree on the core aspects of the faith when they don’t agree about one of the most fundamental characteristics of God, which is love? Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: There’s no music sweeter to the human ear than to hear God Himself, the Creator of the Universe, the Maker of all things, the infinitely perfect Holy One who existed through all time without us–to hear that God say, “I love you, and you are Mine.” What a glorious message!

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: I want to commend to you the living word of God, which is a tree of life to those who take hold of it. I want to commend to you the word of truth, which will change you forever!

  1. For Tammy’s question about the separation between the sheep and the goats. Like Dr. Brown said there is much imagery of the sheep in the tanakh.

However when I was reading Malachi, the story in and of itself (not necessarily the sheep and goat/allegorical part)

    Check this out,

    Malachi 3:

16 Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD listened and heard them; so a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD ad who meditate on His name.
17 “ They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.”
18 Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.

So this would be like the separation between the sheep (is sheep plural?)and the goats.

I wanna dig into this more because I’ve heard people use this text to support “good people go to heaven” type of arguments.. Of course it can be easily refuted by scripture, but, people who hold to those particular views usually don’t look at the whole entire scriptural outlook when they interpret passages, especially parables.

    GBU All.

  2. I pray for that Jewish believer in Jesus who was challenged by that guys counter missionary book. I pray that she finds answers and everything will be resolved in Jesus’ mighty name I pray.

    Amen

  3. According to a teaching done by Perry Stone. He claims the sheep and the goats are actually church members. The Lord will separate the sheep from the goat one day.

I stated in a post I wrote yesterday anyone can claim they are a Christian.

Question is…Are you a sheep or a goat?

  4. Eric, I do agree with what its say
    in Malachi 3:18

Then you shall again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him..

It is all about serving the Lord.

“God has a deeper love for those who belive.”

I was wrestling with this same question recently, because it says, “For God so loved the world…” but in another verse, it says, “If anyone obeys my Word, He WILL BE LOVED (conditional)”.
