  1. The natural evolution of the effects of sin on the human race is itself a judgment on the arena of sports.

…the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner… Isaiah 51:6

Being just a casual observer, I have detected a change in the sport of professional football over the past 25 years. Back then, I remember very rough collisions between opposing players without the concern of major injuries occurring. These days the game is played much softer. If NFL football players represent the best of the best in human physical fitness, then we have indeed deteriorated which has and continues to become more pronounced with each arriving generation. There are too many injuries and deaths in youth sports as it is right now. I can see that the NFL has adjusted how the game of football is played to minimize players’ injuries; soon it will be totally a noncontact sport.

But God has given us this promise…

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Malachi 4:2

A midpoint between Christianity lukewarmness and Islamic religious extremist with the Trinity always the focal point of our religious devotions would be a nice compromise.

  2. The former boxer brought good insight into the question regarding God’s role in sporting events/outcomes. Good insight.

  3. I believe Christ, God, the word, the kingdom of heaven, the holy spirit, truth, love, righteousness, justice, and such should be our
    rally place.

I do not wish to focus on the Trinity.

I believe God cares what his children do in whatever it is that they are doing. As far as if he cares who wins the Super Bowl, I don’t know.

The best team or athlete doesn’t always win (Ecc 9:11) and that must be by God’s design. He can give a win or take one away.

I suppose God may often care about such things. He may care about anything that concerns us. I suppose he might care about everything that concerns us. I suppose that he does.

  4. About the Super bowl game. The Lord knows all things, He knows the outcome of everything even before it takes place. The Lord knows who will play and who will win in the Super bowl next season and every season to come.
Does the Lord care who wins? NO.
Does He watch it from Heaven? Yes. The Lord sees all things. Nothing is hidden from the eyes of the Lord. The Lord does not have favorites. He loves all. Just not our sins.

About the situation going on in Egypt. Folks in my church truly believe these are signs of end times. That the radical Muslims are behind this event in Egypt. I am so convinced the Antichrist is going to be a Muslim.

Just think the Lord chose us to live now in this generation. My, my.

  5. Although Islam has an antiChristian outlook, with vengance, it is more likely from scripture that the antiMessiah will consider himself the Messiah rather than Jesus, thus the likelihood is that the antiChrist will be of the Jewish nation. As is written there are many antiChists by the spirit of antiChrist, likely the one of 2 Thesl. 2 does not fit the Islamic mold, rather some other apostacy. Islam has its own predictions of a coming leader, however, and that person or ideation of a confederacy of such nations can work in concert with the person spoken of in 2 Thesl. 2. The outlook that Jesus is not Lord is now prevalent in the USAs official posturing and ceremonies, so, the antiChrist outlook or spirit is also found here (as Franklin Graham has recently spoken and identified). To me this simply means we live among a godless populace in many instances.

Although Islam has an antiChristian outlook, with vengance, it is more likely from scripture that the antiChrsit will consider himself to be the Messiah rather than Jesus, thus the likelihood is that the antiChrist will be of the Jewish nation, in a sense bringing to an end the season of Gentile pagan dominance by his last so associated personal actions. As is written, there are many antiChists of the spirit of antiChrist; likely the one of 2 Thesl. 2 does not fit the Islamic mold, rather some other sociopolitial and religious apostacy. Islam has its own predictions of a coming such leader however, and that person or ideation from a confederacy of such nations can work in concert with the person spoken of in 2 Thesl. 2 to undermine all that is of God and spoken of or revered of the Bible’s true God.

The outlook that Jesus is not Lord is now prevalent in the USAs official posturing and government allied ceremonies, so, the antiChrist outlook or spirit is also recently found here (as Franklin Graham has recently spoken and identified). To me this simply means we live among a godless and self indulgent populace in many instances. Hostility or put downs toward those of faith in Jesus Christ is on the rise here and all over.

  7. Hi Jabez,
Here is what makes sense to me that the Antichrist will be a Muslim. The Radical Muslims are known for their violent behavior. Chopping ones head off is nothing for them. They even teach their young kids to kill. Islam is a very violent religion. I do not see the Jewish Religion as being violent. That is not their style.

John said in the book of Revelation 20:4
And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshipped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

Also, the Antichrist brings peace. What nation needs peace the most? Israel. What better person to make amends and settle their difference with Israel then a Muslim. Two enemies making peace with each other.

A former Muslim who is now a born again Christian is also convinced that the Antichrist will be a Muslim. His name is Walid Shoebat. His website is

The book he wrote “God’s War on Terror” Islam, Prophecy, and the Bible.

Perry Stone also is a wise man of God. He also is convinced that the Antichrist will be a Muslim.
I never heard that theory of the Antichrist being Jewish. I give that theory a bit of credit but I believe a Muslim Antichrist outweighs more.

    Blessings to you Jabez.

    Interesting topic though.
