  1. Isn’t a preacher suppose to reach out to the lost?Isn’t a preacher suppose to teach his congregation about sin and hell?

  2. What did Paul call “my Gospel”, and what did Mark call “the Gospel?” These are relevant observations here.

  3. To be honest with you Bob I never been to one of his sermons so I don’t know if he doesn’t preach the whole gospel.

But for sure the unsaved needs to hear the gospel, the whole truth. I agree 100% with that.

Is it factual that he doesn’t preach about sin and hell to his congregation? Never, ever? If not then that is wrong.

  4. Debbie, watch his show,do little research.I can not say he never mentions sin but it is seldom. He freely admit’s he does not talk about hell or satan

  5. Of what mention did Jesus confirm he was the Messiah when John the Baptist’s disciples came inquiring of him, as sent of John while he was in Herod’s prison. Speaking of hell and the satan is not of direct reference to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, though the consequences on the works of the satan and the judgment of hell are certainly of effect. Sin is qualified as overcome by associating with Jesus Christ and his Gospel–especially so for those already seated with Christ, by faith. What we seem to not understand is the challenges of Union life prior to the literal assumption of it by the Appearing of Jesus Christ.

  6. Are you saying Jabez that a pastor need not speak of the consequence of sin which is hell? Are you saying that a pastor need not warn his congregation of satan and of satans attempt to lead them astray? Osteen does neither.
I don’t believe that is what your saying. But Jesus spoke and warned us about satan and hell many times.I am not a highly educated man but it seems to me that anything Jesus spoke on is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Please respond.

  7. Debbie If you have time listen to his sermons. Also there is an interview with larry king that is interesting. He says that he does not talk about hell or satan in his sermons because he wants to keep his sermons positive and he doesn’t want to condemn anyone.I’m not sure where to find it but I will look.

  8. Perhaps it is semantics, but the “good news” of Jesus Christ is not the bad news on sin and satan. It is the remedy (for sin, the world, the flesh, and the devil). It also establishes the Way, or how to live. Jesus died to save a soul to give eternal life, and from the works of the satan. That is the essential Gospel good news. No one has answered either of my questions to date.

  9. Here we were challenged by the Radio show in more than one way. The essential remark on homosexuality being a sin “according to the scriptures” was mentioned by J.O. In the same interview he mentioned that he had come to understand this from scripture over time. Likely he had listened to his critics over the You Tube captured poorly theologically based past remarks he had made which set him at odds with scripture. At the same time the radio show acknowledges the phenomena of his popular appeal, where, something about God working in Chrsit is in the mix (as I attempted to Identify it in Paul’s writings). It is as if folks need the identity affirmations he has offered, and the motivational messages regarding self worth, an OK signal to affirm seeking positive action in life, and not be given mixed signals as to they themselves once claiming faith in the process.

We have to look at what Paul asserted in Rom 12 through 15 as something akin to Christian community, and its outworking for mutual edification. Conviction of sin, though pointed out by lists in both the OT and NT, is God’s affair–until it levens the community, in the letters of the Apostles. It does not take a rocket scientist to understand when the commandments are broken, it takes a loving and affirming Christ to offer the remedy for sin.

What did Jesus say as to the indicators of his Mission to John the Baptist’s sent disciples? How shall we interpret this message? And how, for example, would Martin Luther King Jr., and Richard Wilberforce fit in the Kingdom of Jesus as to what he told John’s disciples? How were the scribes and Pharisees disposed toward their own understanding of sin, and what was Jesus disposition in understanding it, his remedy, and the entire matter of condemnation and living life when attempting devotion and dedication to Him as a new and living Way?

  10. I already wrote that Jesus did not ascribe goodness to any man, but to the “One sent from above,” and the lamb of God who took away the sins of the world. To what extent was Jesus sin conscious in His own mission, and to what extent was He focused on how to Be, Do, and Live for the Kingdom of Heaven??? Once the remedy is accepted, sin confessed, and the New Person begins, how then shall we live? How do we then become His witnesses, His elect, and His people?

  11. Bob T., Thanks for your interaction, the Cross is not about being an educated man, it is about acceptance in the beloved, where none of us can boast of anything except Christ and Christ crucified.

  12. Wow,
    Sheila,
I just read the testimony you gave about your sister. Very, very awesome indeed.

You must be so thrilled. Thank you Lord!!!

Sorry to admit this folks, but I usually do not read the long posts right away. It may take days or never to read them. Thats just me.

Big clap to the Lord for Sheila’s sister.

  13. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (Complete Jewish Bible)

“9 Don’t you know that unrighteous people will have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don’t delude yourselves – people who engage in sex before marriage, who worship idols, who engage in sex after marriage with someone other than their spouse, who engage in active or passive homosexuality, 10 who steal, who are greedy, who get drunk, who assail people with contemptuous language, who rob – none of them will share in the Kingdom of God. 11 Some of you used to do these things. But you have cleansed yourselves, you have been set apart for God, you have come to be counted righteous through the power of the Lord Yeshua the Messiah and the Spirit of our God.”

  14. Ruth, Your last citation appears almost word for word in John’s Revelation of Jesus, sobering indeed. The time is short, let’s keep triming our lamps! Let’s keep praying and assembling, petitioning and repenting, and requesting this year for God to come and heal our land in 2012. Why wait for the request? Because, like Daniel did, our leaders need to humble themselves, confess and repent, and this will lead to a Spirit of Christ visitation to magnify itself among people of this continent. It happened starting in 1970 for the generation now coming to its post middle age; the next generation lacks a general culture-wide acceptance and understanding of the need for Christ.

Franklin Graham has identified a spirit of anti-Christ over our land. Christians need to petition our Father for His own intervention to change this increasing region of darkness into the illumination of the Great Light, which has Come.

  15. Amen, Jabez, may it be so…

And in everyone’s life, the clear recognition that time there is also short, and we just can’t know where and when we will have finally sealed our own fates…

He is merciful; repent and be forgiven while it is still called “today.”

  16. Why are you people obsessed with other people’s sex lives leave that decision up to God. Clean up your own lives and stop making judgment on other people. Rochele, a hereterosexual Jew.Btw Jesus was a Jew.

  17. Debbie Fraser after Jesus’ death, resurrection and exaltation He ascended into heaven and now sits at the Father’s right in a glorified body interceding for humankind. He is no longer a Jew as to his human body, but God almighty, the second person in the “Trinity” or if you prefer to say in the “Godhead”). If you remember that the apostle John was considered the beloved disciple (or the one Jesus loved). That same apostle John in his visions on the island of Patmos in Revelation knew then that he must now bow down to the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Alpha and Omega and the First and the Last. He was in the beginning with God and all things were made by Him (read John 1:1-3) One of the greatest Redemptive name for Jesus is “the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus was God incarnate in the flesh who came through the line of King David (through the Virgin Mary) to identify with his people (Israel) but they denied him. Do you remember the story Jesus told his disciples about the Parable of the Barren Fig Tree in Luke 13:6-9 and again 21:29-33. However, the Bible declares in Revelation that when Christ returns to earth in the second advent they (the Jews) will mourn for him (their Messiah). Their hearts were intentionally hardened so God could deal with the gentile world (called the time of the gentiles). The gentile reign is from Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 1-4 through to the reign of the anti-Christ and his associate the false prophet. Revelation 19:20-21 those 2 will be were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with fire and brimstone. But God is going to deal with his people Israel for their denial when he walked the earth 2000 years ago. However, in the end He is going to bring his people Israel together from the 4 corners of the earth. Read Revelation 7.

Now tell me something Ms. Foster you tell me where in the Bible God sanctifying same sex marriages. I cannot seem to find any text anywhere on that subject. Please I do not want to read through the lines, but His exact words. I believe that where the Bible is silent on a subject we to must remain silent and not invent or twist God’s word words.

As to Joel let’s say he really doesn’t know any better. He is not an ordained minister or had any formal training on any biblical studies whatsoever. He inherited Lakewood church from his deceased dad. I heard his father was some preacher. Joel Olsten is a motivational (speaker), feel good (whatever people wants to hear as long as it does not line up with God’s word), non-preacher type. God will deal with his heretics (false teaching) later. The word Bible means: Bible Instruction Before Leaving Earth. Be Blessed in the Lord and ask the Lord Jesus our King (Jesus) for revelation.

However we should love all people regardless of their sex orientation. God is love. He loves all his children. The Father God loved the world so much he gave up his only son to die for mankind on the cross of calvary (John 3:16). The Bible declares that it pleased the Father to bruise his son Jesus. Everything I tell you is lined up with Scripture unchanged in the Bible. He has overcome the world and defeated Satan at the cross.

  18. I feel like I know most of you now from all your comments. Lol. Each one of you has an earnest desire to serve Yeshua Ha Elohim v Mashiach! This is our unity, we may disagree but we may also unite, intercede, edifying each other.

  19. Ok, Eliyahu you got me. We can disagree and yet be united in Christ. I can live with that one. 🙂

  20. Good one, Ruth. I always thought Osteen sounded more like a disciple of “The Secret” than the Word of God.

First time I ever listened to MacArthur. I think I like him!

  21. I ran into some other videos there. I’d like to hear more about speaking in tongues. I’ve never experienced it, but there are things to be said on both sides as to whether it is valid or not. It’s a difficult manifestation to understand.

Maybe Dr. Brown could discuss this on one of his shows. I’m still searching archives, better check my spelling.

  22. Joel Olstein is perfectly correct. Homosexuality is a sin according to the Bible. It doesn’t matter whether he is a feel-good preacher or not that kind of lifestyle is unnatural and called sin in the Bible. BELOW ARE SCRIPTURE AND VERSES FOR YOUR INFORMATION. I INVITE YOU TO PICK UP THE BIBLE AND CHECK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THESE VERSES.

The Bible declares that we should love one another just as he (God) loves us. He sent his son Jesus Christ into the world to die for sin (for us) that (we) all might come to repentance. Homosexuals, transgender, lesbians etc. are also God’s children, but they have a choice to live according to the God’s standard. One man with one woman. The Bible is the infallible Word of God and it says throughout His Word that Homosexuality is a sin so who are we to say otherwise.

Leviticus 18:22: You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

Leviticus 20:13: If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.

In the beginning God spoke the word into existence and then God said, “Let Us make man in our image, according to our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Genesis 2:20-23 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called woman, because she was taken out of Man.”

Genesis 3:17 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life.
Genesis 3:20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.
Genesis 4:1 Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, “I have acquired a man from the LORD.”

2:18, 22-24: The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

1 Corinthians 7:2: But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman her own husband.

1 Corinthians 6:9–11: Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Psalm 119:93 I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life

The Bible declares that all these things will take place close to the return of Christ for His Church. Mothers having children with sons, fathers with daughters, men will be become loves of themselves, polygamy is now on the rise: the list gets longer and longer until this sin-polluted earth is completely destroyed.

  23. Debbie, what should you call men of the cloth sleeping with prostitutes? You may call it by one name, sin, and it falls in the same category like liars, thieves, child molesters, pedophiles, pornography, adultery, fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, murders, sodomites, kidnappers, perjurers, etc. all are under the umbrella as sin. You also said that men of God slept with prostitutes too, indeed you are right. As long as you are in this world of sin you are going to fall into sin because of the flesh. The Bible declares that none is righteous, no not one (Romans 3:10); for all have sinned and falls short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Look at the number of Roman Catholic Priests that are sexually molesting young boys, and look at Pastor Eddie Long sexually abusing those 4 boys in and then saying it is not true. He shouldn’t even be allowed to preach to anyone but people are generally gullible and would believe a lie. Who is perfect but God almighty? As long as we live in this sinful world men of the “cloth” as well as we ordinary people will be tempted by lust of the eyes and continue to fall into more and more sin. When something is chronic it is hard to stop. How about that Rabbi in Boropark, Brooklyn, cutting up that little boy like a chicken? Today, even the Polygamists are bringing the state to court because they too want the right to have more than one wife if they so choose. The answer to that my friend is that the son of man, the Messiah, King Jesus, the King of the Jews is about to return to earth to set up his millennial kingdom. You had better watch and pray.

    Shalom to you Debbie Foster

To Debbie: You said that Joel Olstein seems to have fear in him when talking about sin. All true Christians are dreadfully afraid of sin. I call it the wrath of God. Look at the disasters that are happening around the whole word. What is God now trying tell mankind? Shalom to all who would listen to the still small voice of our Lord Jesus Christ (our Messiah).
