  1. Almost Christian? I can’t wait to hear this. Is that like almost being pregnant? Then again, Christian can mean a few different things. I should check my dictionary.

  2. I clicked on “How saved are we?” and came to another page where I read something from Dr. Brown,
“For years we have preached a defective message- and now we have a defective church.”

I do agree with that statement. What I hear today is defective in that it is not the complete message of the gospel, in my opinion.

What I hear today is like part “B” of an epoxy without part “A”. It’s like trying to get results by only using one tube of J-B weld (really like this product) which is a two part system which consists of a red label tube and a black label tube.

I think we need to hear a health and prosperity gospel the way we have never heard it before.

    Jer 22:16

One thing about J-B weld, you really have to mix it up well and apply it. If J-B fails it’s usually due to improper mixing, rarely due to improper application as it works so well for so many things.

  3. Appreciate your insightful comment regarding idolatry and becoming like that which we worship in regards to the idols of stone that cannot hear/see, or understand.

“Benign Whateverism” — what a great description! The eclectic stew can contain anything pleasing to the palate, as long as it doesn’t cause deep internal questioning or even remorse, i.e., a sense of guilt.

I am one of those guilty of raising children without a strong sense of what the Gospel really teaches. I came to a deeper understanding late in life, after a profound brokenness and search for God through New Age philosophy left me utterly empty, and I can see the consequences of that today. Sure, it was part of the zeitgeist, and I was as swept up as any of the multitudes were or are, but it grieves me to see the harvest today. I only hope and continually pray that my (now grown) children will come to the Cross because all the avenues which are supposed to bring inner peace or justice in the world will ultimately fail them, I know.

I know that when I found the Lord, I also received true forgiveness, but I also know that whatever we sow, we reap.

Don’t want to end this on a down note, but even those can be witnesses to what happens when we fail to grasp the truth while we are raising our young…and may perhaps serve as a warning…

  5. I am in my fifties and sold a company that I started in 1983. I have been praying for a direction that I can be of service and feeling very small as the ever looming grain of sand on the beach. I have read an article quite a few times to just realize the enormity of what I see happening today and realizing how close we are to be completely overcome by our suppressors.
I feel alittle bit like a picture i saw taken of two divers cave diving and big smiles on their faces. The notation: They were not aware that they would never make it alive. The camera was found with their bodies;they did not have enough air to make it back.

  6. As many as hold to the cross are going to survive. What we need today is the vision of intercessors and making use of that kind of ministry whenever there is a matter between two who have not been able to reconcile.

I think one reason many young women screamed when the Beatles sang “She Loves You”, was because it is a song about someone who interceeded.
