  1. I would add an Amen to Ruth’s comments, and pray that the Sacramento meeting be the first of many national rallies of repentance and confession. This is a powerful suggestion. And, we must note, that sin is not just about behavior (or all would be guilty beyond redress), but, primarily is about a condition of the heart and mind. Especially in the case of those who seem to only be nice and only be appropriate at all times, yet do not call upon the Name of the Lord, and consider the weight of the relationship offered daily to His own. It is a matter of National, currently moot, conscience and regard of who Jesus is.

  2. Does not the Lord say, where two or more r gathered in my name, there I am also….Jesus dined with sinners….Shame on our Christian community for not leading this type of rally…Probably, most of the people who gathered are almost Christians and maybe even non-believers….i think the controvery brought God to the fore-front, making alot of people think about all of this….

  3. Brian,
The rally was not DEVISIVE.You weren’t there.
You said,it’s “unrealistic” for Sharpton to have “cancelled his event & stood with the Mormon”? He didn’t have to “cancel his event” but rather,as I told a reporter,he should have JOINED the event with DR.ALVEDA KING!!!OR just HAVE his event to COMMEMORATE MLK & NOT TO PROTEST BECK.I GOOGLED MLK’s rally’s & “oh look” The good “Reverend” DIDN’T HAVE A RALLY LAST YEAR!…AND Sharpton & Beck are FRIENDS,so,ABSOLUTELY,he should have been done that.THAT would have “brought this nation together for all people”.Friends of mine were THREATENED by some of Sharptons thugs & had to go to the police.Didn’t you say “Let FREEDOM ring”? THAT is not FREEDOM but DIVISION!
As far as having it on the same day,I have no KNOWLEDGE about why he did..What did YOU find out?it was obviously approved by MLK’s family.
How do I feel about the mosque?
I believe they are a cult, not a religion because they SACRIFICE THEIR CHILDREN.They SHOULD NOT get 1st ammendment protection because they are a CULT AND a POLITICAL system that is trying to”dominate”(THEIR WORDS) our Constitution with Sharia Law & that is SEDITION according to the 14th ammendment, which says,”this Constitution Shall be the highest law of the land”.
Thomas Jefferson, one of the Founding Father’s of the Constitution & 1st ammendment was also famous for doing something else..remember what that was?…he formed The NAVY.Remember WHY? To fight the Barbery pirates..to keep MUSLIMS OFF OUR SOIL.
Google it.Oh Yes,he owned a Koran,so he could know his enemy!
I have been to & stayed in the West Bank in Israel TWICE.I am sensitive to their problem BUT I also know what the truth is.They are being held hostage to this “political system” that doesn’t want “land for Peace, they want CONQUEST..it’s in the Koran, they MUST do this.Just ask NY’s Gov.Patterson if “Land For Peace” works. He offered them FREE NY Govt’.land to build the mosque & they REFUSED IT!,because it’s not about “a Cultural Center” or singing Kum-ba-Ya with the 9-11 families..it’s about CONQUEST,it’s in their book, they MUST do this until the whole world is “Dar Al Islam”.When we take land ,we plant a flag..they build a mosque…which also by the way, they HIDE BEHIND & STORE WEAPONS IN the mosque’s.Just look at the Lebanon/Gaza wars.
They are setting up their military RIGHT NOW in Lebanon in homes for handicapped children, preparing for the coming war with Israel.GOOGLE IT.
WE are allowing them to set up these “military bases” all over our land.
Remember Twilight Zone episode,”TO SERVE MAN”? YOUTUBE IT.”To Serve Man…IT’S A COOKBOOK!!”

  4. In hind site, which in this case is too late, I probably shouldn’t have posted the link to the Book of Mormon, because for those of you who don’t have a “firm” foundation in Christian Doctrine, you may, perhaps, think “it sounds ok to me”. But, the “differences” in the use of and the end result of these sayings from Mormon, that were “lifted” from the Bible, are very “subtle” and unless you “know” your Bible, I mean “really” read it and understand the Truth laid out from beginning to end, and are well versed in Doctrine, you may be fooled.

One more point I will make is this, and then I will leave it alone. If the Lord sent an angel today, would the angel speak to you in plain English? Why would a modern day angel speak to someone in “Olde English”? King James purposely had the Bible of 1611, the “Authorized King James Version” written with the “thee”s and the “thou”‘s and “ye shall” to deliberately exalt the Word of God. It was not common usage of words that dictated that decision, it was intentionally used to preserve the “holiness” of Scriptures. So, why would God send an angel who spoke to people a “new” revelation in a “contrived” language that was not in use at that time? My point is, He wouldn’t. The beauty and awe of our Bible is that you can, through great diligence of study, find, breathed between it’s pages and underlying message, the work of God and His Truth revealed from Genesis to Revelation. God does not change, and everything was completed in Christ over 2000 years ago. There is nothing more that can or should be added. “For His work was finished before the foundation of the world.”

Following is an excerpt under the section of “moroni”.

    THE BOOK OF MORONI
    Moroni 8

8 Listen to the words of Christ, your Redeemer, your Lord and your God. Behold, I came into the world not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance; the whole need no physician, but they that are sick; wherefore, little children are whole, for they are not capable of committing sin; wherefore the curse of Adam is taken from them in me, that it hath no power over them; and the law of circumcision is done away in me.

So, you might think it sounds right. However, the Lord was, in fact, saying what He had said earlier. “There is none righteous, no, not one!”
So, the saying was lost on the Pharisees who felt that they were “righteous” and didn’t need an intercessor because they had the law of Moses and the sacrificial system given under the law of Moses. Whereas, the “offering of bulls and sacrifices could never make the offerers perfect”, nor, would it remove their sins, quite the contrary, it pointed to the Messiah who, with His own blood, would purge us from all unrighteousness.

Concerning little children who the Mormons say are born without sin, the Bible clearly says something quite contrary to that:

Psa 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.
Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

There doesn’t seem to be anything more to add to that. But, again, I want to emphasize that the differences are very “subtle”, and that we should all “study to show ourselves approved, a workman that need not be ashamed.” If you are not reading your Bible and doing diligent study on a regular basis, and especially the New Covenant, you cannot discern the differences. There is an excellent study site that is truly invaluable for me: blueletterbible.org. You can do word searches and verse searches, together with commentaries and dispensational analysis. It gives the Hebrew and Greek definition of words and the pronunciation of each. It’s a great study tool.

I would like to end on the following notes, as I sincerely hope no one was offended by previous posts. It was never my intention to offend anyone.

1Cr 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

Rom 13:10 Love works no ill to his neighbour: therefore love [is] the fulfilling of the law.
Eph 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
    Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, [even] Christ:
Eph 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

    Your Sister in Yeshua,

  5. I do have a concern about Christians linking with Mormons, but a greater concern it David Barton supporting Glen Beck, or the two of them working together. Barton is convinced the founding fathers were Christian, despite the Masonic affiliation of many. He claims that early Masonry was Christian in this country. Speculative Masonry, formerly organized in 1717 in England, was never intended to be Christian, but deistic, inclusive of all. The English brought Masonry to this country. Joseph Smith was a Mason, so there are many similarities in ritual and belief between Mormons and Masons. Where does this all lead?

  6. Trisha,

Sorry for the delay in responding, but I had a very busy and fruitful Lord’s Day, yesterday. Thanks for your reply, and sensing that this dialogue is pretty much concluded, I’ll leave this to be my last posting with you on this particular subject.

It seems that as I have re-read our dialogue, you have worked very hard to force this into an exchange about individuals, namely Al Sharpton. Your focus to repeatedly call him out, speak negatively about him, and to question the character of our sitting president has been an attempt to enflame, and has nothing to do with this topic. You’ve even gone so far as to draw me in with words that did not come from my pen, ” You said,it’s “unrealistic” for Sharpton to have “cancelled his event & stood with the Mormon”. I have not mentioned him up to this point at all, and would be much appreciative if you would use clear and accurate quotes if you are to attribute them to my name. If you read my previous postings, you would have noted that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. son, Martin Luther King, III, was intrinsically involved as one of the leaders, among other prominent voices as well. Do you really think that he should have cancelled his father’s, “I Have a Dream” commemoration speech, to attend Mr. Beck’s rally, honestly?

I also found it very interesting in noting your justifications as to why a mosque should not be built near Ground Zero. First, how did I know that you didn’t agree? Simply by the temperament of your postings. Moreover, I noticed that you appealed to every reason as to why it shouldn’t be built without the inclusion of the sensitivity of the whole matter in respects to those who have perished on 9/11.

Again, if Mr. Beck wants to have his rally, he has the legal right to do so, I only acknowledged that he was insensitive to have it on such a day. It is clear that you disagree, so let’s just leave it at that. Albeit, our dialogue has done nothing more than to demonstrate the continued division that remains in America today, and in the body of Christ. If America is to come back to G-d, then it will be though a genuine expression of the Love of G-d, a call to holiness and repentance, and a willingness to esteem others higher than we do ourselves.

    v’ad-hav-ta l’ray-ah-cha ka-moe-cha.

    Y’va-rea-ch’cha Adonai,
    Shalom

  7. Many people center on Glenn Beck being a Mormon. It is true that there are some things that may not be true compared to the Christian church. The state of Utah could not become a state unless they dropped the polygamy. There are few that still believe that polygamy is still okay.

Some people believe that he purposed that the rally was on the “I’ve Got a Dream” speech. He says that he didn’t do it when he picked that date. He certainly appreciates what Martin Luther King, Jr. and what his niece is doing. If there is anything wrong about it, it doesn’t seem like it.

Glenn Beck doesn’t teach about Mormonism on his show. He just happens to be one just like O’Reilly says that he is a Roman Catholic. Both denominations don’t call themselves Christian, but each by its denomination.

As for Christians doing the rally, would the imam and rabbis be there? He got everyone there from all beliefs to come together as one. I’ve been at Israel Always rally and very few rabbis and Jewish denominations show up because they have had some Christians try and convert them. I believe that this didn’t happen.

Many Christian denominations say that they are right and if you don’t believe differently than you are wrong. Can’t we for one day come together, remember our founding fathers, and see how they believed and bring this country back to what it used to be?

As far as the different groups that the founding fathers had joined, my question to you is is that the same as it is now or has it changed since James Madison and George Washington (to name a couple)lived? The reason that I ask is that the wine back in the days was not the same as it is today.

  8. It seems that Glenn Beck scored some points on the national level, even scoring right through some of the just uprights, and just in time for football season, as it wasn’t just right vs. left, but more about right vs. wrong. (as per Jim Garlow’s article) It seems the best advance for the nation is going to be right up the middle.

  10. I did not go to the Restore Honor rally, I am not a fan or folower of Glen Beck. I found out after the raly he is a Morman, which exsplains a lot. I now view that rally of deception the rally to pave the way for Mit Romny for president for 2012.

I am disquited over the idea of Sarah Palin, James Robinson and other proffessing Christains speaking out in favor of this rally. Perhaps we will see a Romny Palin tacket as a result.

The people on this thread who talk about mixture and confusion are right. It is time, before it is too late, to come out from among them.
