  1. It is certainly beyond ridiculous to claim, as the caller did, that Christ had none of the Virgin Mary’s DNA in Him or that she was in some way a surrogate. As a matter of fact, the only DNA that Christ had within Him was His mother’s. The Catholic Church correctly identifies the Mother of God’s singular role in the mystery of our salvation: the flesh through which God redeemed the human race was flesh taken from this woman, the woman whose Seed would crush the serpent’s head.
