Dear Dr. Brown,
I have been watching your debates with Jewish rabbis on YouTube. There are several things for which I seek clarification. Dr. Brown, I am confused about the concept of substitutionary atonement verses penal atonement. Do they not both apply to Christ? What about the idea of a human sacrifice? How is that explained? Either way, I know that I was a sinner in need of a savour, and that Christ paid the price I could not pay. He is my Lord, and I could not live without Him. Thank you.
