    It seems Paul is standing on a tradition (a doctrine ultimately codified in the Babylonian Talmud [Niddah 61b]–though Paul’s argument is based on Torah principles where the Talmud’s is based on a verse in the Psalms) when he clarifies the relationship Jewish disciples of Messiah [Ro 2:17, 7:1] have with the Law (i.e., that they are not under the authority of the Law but are under the authority of the Spirit of Grace as the method of service [Ro 6:14, 7:1-6]).
