First, let me say that I am a Christian first and an American afterward–I keep Christian law of faith (whereby the entire Law is fulfilled and established)–I do not wish to harm others [Ro 3:27, 31, 8:4, 13:8-10].
Having said that, the real issue we’ve been having, and that will persist, in terms of implementing “common-sense” gun-control laws (e.g., those with serious psychological problems cannot own firearms) is that the US has shown “bad faith” for far too long–i.e., seizing upon every opportunity they get to “help” to edge God-given liberties out (referred to as “creeping tyranny”–a slow encroachment of tyranny–there’re many who believe the Constitution is an outdated document we are not bound to). If all they intended to do was “help” and retain the Constitutional Republic, we wouldn’t be having an issue–but the Constitutional Republic is being eroded by men chasing after goals which are necessarily abraded by the same.
