  1. Regarding the Artificial Intelligence question today I just received this morning a ministry e-mail concerning this particular topic….

    SCIENTISTS GET SMART ABOUT INTELLIGENCE

“And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God” (Acts 13:6-7).

A few decades ago, when computers first began to become available to the general public, some writers, particularly for popular science magazines, predicted that computers would soon have an intelligence similar to human beings. Do you ever wonder what happened to such optimistic expectations?

What happened was that scientists began to work on the problem of creating artificial intelligence. At a very early stage, they learned that intelligence is not as simple as they thought it was. It’s true that computers can read and speak, but they cannot understand what they are reading or speaking. Computers can direct machines to build cars, and they can build cars, but they cannot decide to drive to the library and increase their learning.

At the current level of development, researchers can build a computer that will play a good game of chess and even beat an expert. Or a computer that will guide a missile fired from a submarine or drone with pinpoint accuracy. But all this depends upon feedback devices obeying rules pre-programmed into the device by human intelligence. No computer yet is capable of original thought.

When and if scientists ever create a computer that actually has intelligence, they will only confirm what the Bible says about the creation. And that is that intelligence can only be the result of carefully planned and designed effort by another intelligence.

  2. I’ve heard it said that the Bible is written in such a way that it requires that a man have the Holy Spirit in order to understand it.

  3. I was shown a picture of gold dust on the pages of an open Bible and even a picture of what the man said was manna. Anybody can take some gold colored flakes and sprinkle them on an open page, and do the same with torn bits of white foam rubber and put it in a nice little pile on top of a Bible open to the Psalms or something.

I believe some men will do that either for attention, to cause some to stumble, for entertainment, for testing the discernment of others, for all kinds of carnal reasons that are destructive and deceitful. Some people are idiots spiritually, and they will have their way with others until they get caught.

Is Job a type of Christ? I believe there may be some things pertaining to the life of Job that remind us of Jesus, something about Job’s brokenness that had to happen, for example, for something greater to happen in the future.

I believe there are lessons to learn from the book of Job that cause one to think of Christ.
Would God sacrifice his word in order to save us? for example, for that question came up to me as I read the book.

I believe Elihu was in part a “type” for the ministry of Christ, something of an example of part of what Christ is about, and like.

  4. On gold dust…why I think it’s probably a cruel hoax.

If it’s real gold they would be selling it. If it’s not real gold, what is it? If it’s glitter, whose job is it to clean it up? It’s extremely difficult to get rid of glitter, especially ultra-fine premium glitter. There are stores online where you can send “glitter bombs” to your enemies. Anybody who has done crafts knows what a time-consuming pain it is to clean up. It gets everywhere.

I heard this story – God put gold dust inside a woman’s dishwasher. I thought to myself, how did she get it all out? I’d freak out if that happened to me. Why would God put gold dust inside a dishwasher that’s meant to clean dishes? What’s the purpose? It seems cruel. I’d be mad at God.

    Just a few practical thoughts.
