The Censorship Debate and Kingdom Perspectives on the News

[Download MP3]

Was YouTube right in blocking the anti-Muslim film in Libya and Egypt if that would potentially save lives? What about censorship here in America? Is there a time when it is right? Dr. Brown will take your calls on these issues and share some biblical perspectives on news from America and abroad. Listen live here 2-4 pm EST, and call into the show at (866) 348 7884 with your questions and comments.

Hour 1:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: We cannot capitulate to terrorism, we cannot capitulate to fanaticism. While we recognize some things are offensive and we renounce them as such, we do not lose our freedoms over them.

Hour 2:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: God is God without apology! He rules, He reigns, He is the King! Let us not try to make Him acceptable to us, let us be acceptable to Him!

  1. The individual freedoms guaranteed in America have turned us into mindless twits. Of course there is a “limit” “because” we are social creatures. Being so, we can’t possibly accomodate every free whim under the sun. We have a right to act for the welfare of the greater good.

  2. This is in response to the caller that said, “God gave us our freedoms” and that we shouldn’t be censored.

God gave us many “thou shalt not’s” also. God’s laws include limits on our freedom, especially concerning infringing on others. And the Lord said, “Whatsoever you would have someone do to you do also to them.”

I don’t know where to draw the line I just believe there is one.
