  1. Hi everyone, just thought I’d let you know Line Of Fire that today’s podcast starts to skip unintelligibly at 49mins 40seconds in. I’m not sure if it continues this way through out the second segment but i know you’d like to fix it. May God’s Grace and Peace be with you. Michael.

  2. I would like to pose a question as someone who came out of Catholosism.

Although this Mr Coren’s message is one we all can get behind what about Mr Coren and the people like him (catholics) who think they are Christian ?

If they are trusting in sacraments to get them to heaven as per the catholic doctrine on soteriology and not the blood of Christ and His faithfulness alone then what do we say to them ?

    This is the question:

If we agree with someone who shares a lot of Christian ethics and morals… are we giving them a false sense of security and affirming them in their error if we do not bring up soteriology ?

This is not an attack it is a serious genuine question. As one with family and friends who are Catholics who thik they are ok. Eternity is at stake for these people as you know.

what is the best way to address this touchy issue without compromising the Gospel.

    Thank you in advance

  3. My mother-in-law is 91; been a devout Catholic all her life. She still is a bit scandalized that we aren’t Catholic; but her daughter, my wife, got a blessing from a priest on Cape Cod to keep following Jesus from our Protestant perspective many years ago. She also quit debating with me many years ago; we have a good relationship based on Love. I don’t like all the Mary-worship stuff, at all; but we have come to an agreement, because I am sure, beyond a doubt, that she Knows Jesus (love you, ma!)

  4. “If they are trusting in sacraments to get them to heaven as per the catholic doctrine on soteriology and not the blood of Christ and His faithfulness alone then what do we say to them?”

It’s a difficult one, but yes, if they are trusting in anything other than Christ’s completed work at Calvary, then they’re in big trouble. I’m sure that YHWH detests Rome and her fornications, and the rivers of believers’ blood she has shed over the centuries (but then I doubt he’s terribly keen on the Protestant harlots — state/established churches — to which she gave birth, either). Jews and genuine Christians alike have suffered horribly at her hands.

The Roman church is merely the old Roman state religion masquerading in the skin of the sheep it slaughtered. The Roman “Mary” bears no relation to Miriam, mother of Yeshua. And not only is she venerated as a co-mediatrix, there is a perennial push to make her co-redemptrix: they already call her “Queen of Heaven”, just as Christ is King.

I’ve heard lots of people say that somebody they know bows the knee to Rome but still knows the Lord. I don’t doubt that Jesus can save people within the Church of Rome — He can save people within the Church of Satan, if He wishes.

…But the question is, why, if they are truly saved, do they remain in such an abomination? It’s the biggest false church on the planet, and its doctrine, history, setup and practices should be utterly repellent to someone who really loves the Lord and is jealous of His name. My guess is that they stay put because they want to hedge their bets with some fire insurance (which of course is not trusting *fully* in Christ, but keeping one foot in Apostolic succession, sacraments, etc.). Believers who are saved within a false church yet choose to remain in it are setting themselves up for big trouble in so doing. Oh that they would hear the warnings of Scripture…

Come out of her my people!

  5. I was reading a book about the Jezebel spirit and it was said that she is sometimes called the queen of heaven. Is that what some people did with Mary? Did they make her into something like that?

Maybe it’s the Jezebel spirit using the name of Mary to do it’s corrupt work.

  6. Many Jews and born-again Christians have become dissatisfied with Messianic Judaism and Evangelical Christianity and found the fullness of the truth revealed by Yeshuah the Messiah in the Catholic Church. Despite all the good things in the evangelical/messianic movements (and Catholics have much to learn from them), much is also lacking, especially the Real Presence of the Lord in the Eucharist.

This was my own journey after 7 years as an evangelical worshiping in Messianic congregations in Israel (I met Michael Brown some 11 years ago in a congregation in Tel Aviv). Studying Judaism brought me into the Catholic Church.

(you can read my testimony here: http://www.catholicsforisrael.com/en/articles/testimonies/44-a-prodigal-son-returns-home

While I understand that many believers have difficulties with the Catholic faith, perhaps the time has come for evangelicals/messianics to mature and stop repeating ad nauseum the same old nonsensical and false caricatures of Catholicism (such as those posted above), e.g. that Catholics think they are saved by works, that sacraments replace Christ’s redemption, that Catholics worship Mary and pray to statues, etc… Even a superficial study of the Catholic faith reveals all these canards to be wholly false.

  7. I don’t know what happened to the Podcast, but I’ve still not been able to listen to the 2nd hour because the audio starts to warble unintelligently at about 49mins 40secs into the Podcast and continues throughout the rest of the 2nd Hour. I’m not complaining, just reporting. Thank You, Michael.

  8. The history of Catholicism has been to replace the Jews; not join with them (ie Paul in Romans and Ephesians).
On the other hand, when I discovered that I didn’t have to declare loyalty to Paul of Tarsus to be a Christian, all of my former problems with the NT quickly melted away.

  9. If this is the typical understanding of bible-only Christians (Paul and Slate) well… lets just say it is not a good enough understanding of history and the Catholic faith.

There is just too much ignorance (Catholics believe they are saved by sacraments) and foolish biblical exegesis (whore of Babylon).

It is clear from YouTube and other sources that there is a broad phenomenon of Bible-Only Christian false witness against Catholics. Everything from the most foul stuff (sacrificing babies in our churches) to just misrepresenting our doctrines, church history, secular history and the bible in a wilfully unchristian and uncharitable manner.

Egregious and ugly and an indictment against the bible-only assemblies. Not because the congregants are ALL out there doing this but because I have noted that virtually ALL give their tacit approval to this mischief. This slander. This false witness.

I know the Catholic faith. I know that the early Christian Church was Real Presence Eucharistic. I know that the Catholic faith remains true to this this authentic fact of the early Church and the unequivocal teaching of Jesus in John 6. I also know that the bible-only assemblies do not remain faithful to this most profound teaching. This gift of our Lord. Himself to us.

Thank you Ariel for your defense.

Where are you in all this Dr. Michael Brown? I just saw your excellent apology of the faith in your debate with Rabbi Schochet. Can you be so indifferent to the early Church roots and what it actually taught.
