Has God Forsaken His People? Online Article by Dr. Brown:

Some things are non-negotiable. God’s covenant with Israel is one of them. How could He have made Himself more clear?

He gave His oath to Abram, and reiterated it six more times to Abraham, to his son Isaac and to his grandson Jacob. On one occasion, “When God made His promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for Him to swear by, He swore by Himself” (Heb. 6:13).

Why did God speak so decisively? It was because He “wanted to make the unchanging nature of His purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, [so] He confirmed[…]

  1. Torn,

Judaism has been corrupted by Babylon too. It is a man made religion with traditions and beliefs that are contrary to scripture. The Scripture, and the scripture only, reveals YHWH’s truth in a concrete way. I see Christianity and Judaism as the two ditches on either side of the narrow path that leads to life. You cannot be saved by works as Judaism teaches. You must trust in the atoning death of Y’Shua for salvation. You cannot ignore the Law of YHWH as Christianity teaches either. Obedience to YHWH is of great importance. You will continue to be disillusioned if you do not trust fully in Messiah and keep YHWH’s commandments.

    Romans 3
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

    Galatians 5
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

    Revelation 18
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.

Enduring requires both trust and obedience. Coming out of Babylon is not the enough. Keeping YHWH’s commandments is not enough.

    Revelation 14
12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.

Stay out of the ditches. Go through the gate. (Y’shua) Walk in the narrow paths of righteousness. (Torah)

    Shalom

  2. I believe everything in the Old and New Testament but I know exactly how ‘Torn’ feels. After years of feeling weird in church, I left it and rediscovered my faith. The more I looked into things, the less I was convinced I should be there. Granted, the pastor that married me to my wife of seven years now, I have great respect for. I still find him to be a man of God.

The traditional church has a lot of pagan roots mixed in with it, given the holidays and even the day that somehow replaced the sabbath. However, this takes nothing away from the New Testament. It also doesn’t take away from the good Christians, some even that may be blind to some of the things that have crept into the church.

Maybe Torn should have stayed with his church and did what I know a few other churches have done. After being exposed to the complete Word of God, they’ve embarrassed it as truth and are now working on fixing the passed-down teachings.

  3. Bo, Bo, Christianity and Judaism aren’t the ditches, though I ubderstand the part about ‘religion’: it’s unloving legalism, and unlicensed cheap grace, that are the counterfeit to the True.
In latter Ezekeil 37, Judah and Ephraim, representing the Tribes scattered throughout the earth, thus the Nations (by New Covenant spoken in both OT & NT), will again merge. Then the Father’s Bride Israel and the Son’s Bride the Church will become the Spirit’s Bride the Remnant (because of the new ‘tie’.) This day is fast approaching, and should give you comfort and encouragement.
    In Him, Ron M.

  4. I think the church follows the teaching of man rather than the Bible. For example many mega churches including my own (not a seeker church) were CLOSED ON CHRISTMAS. Again. It breaks my heart. It is the tradition of my large church to reject the Biblical Holidays. Even though the church meets on Sunday when Yeshua’s “birthday” (not) inconveniently falls on Sunday we are closed. In Judaism it would be even MORE reason to meet together. Also the lack of prayer is a reflection on our self centered culture into the church. I do not understand why the church at least does not mention the times and reasons for the Biblical Holidays, This would be an very good time to invite our Jewish friends.

  5. Good morning take two.
Write in the dark- press a wrong button- but GOD WILL STILL USE IT TO THE GOOD.
I want to cross-thread the NC Marriage Amendment and change the meaning to MY write to right in the dark, because this is the USA and MY individual rights are more important than collective social rights because I say so.
If I want to maa=rry a cow as a second wife next year, I should be allowed to do that also, because MY personal opinion of what marriage is is better than the Bible’s.
And if you believe that, I have a rusty old bridge teetering across the Tuckaseegee River I would be happy to sell you.
    In Him, Ron M.

  6. This was an excellent program. I have a few friends that are also torn and some that are completely convinced that Christianity is completely pagan and offensive to God.

Sometimes I feel I make things worse when I try to speak to them. I don’t know what I should do other than pray for them to seek truth with all their might. The funny thing is that they believe they have found the truth and they are seeking what they have found with all their might!

This program was great. My thought on this topic is that for some people it might be that their exposure to Christianity has been a poor one instead of one rich of spiritual growth. Others might not have been mature in discerning and intimate with the Spirit at the point when all these different teachings and distractions from HaSatan reached their eyes and ears.

Know thy God, Know His Word, call for discernment, seek intimacy with Yeshua.

  7. Hello all….I believe there is another component that may be in play here. Although, since I don’t know Torn, I may be entirely wrong. In Torn’s message there is reference to being half-Jewish. I can tell you from personal experience that if one is of mixed ethnicity, a person can experience intense isolation and rejection from both sides of the family. This kind of pain, I believe, has repercussions….a kind of who am I and where can I go to be accepted…kind of thing. Of course, can Israel accept everyone who claims some Jewish heritage? Probably not, I suppose, for many many reasons. But I do think that people ought to be more sensitive (a kind of how would I feel if I were in the same situation)before they draw lines of exclusion in dealing with mixed heritage. O.K….that’s all I should probably say…and again, perhaps I’m way off here in regard to Torn’s situation. Thanks for listening!

  8. People don’t receive the Holy Spirit through working the works of the Law ; they receive the Holy Spirit through obeying the Gospel!

Gal 3:2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith?

Gal 3:21 For IF a Law had been given that COULD GIVE LIFE, THEN righteousness would indeed be by the Law.

  9. People grieve the Holy Spirit by their disobedience and do despite to the Spirit of Grace by willfully sinning/transgressing the law.

    Hebrews 10
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

This also causes one’s heart to condemn them.

    1 John 3
18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Carnal/fleshly minds just cannot be subject to YHWH’s law. Those that walk in the Spirit and fulfill/keep the law thus have no condemnation.

    Romans 8
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit…
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit…
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

There is no way to have confidence toward YHWH while we are walking knowingly, contrary to the scripture (Law and the Prophets) that Paul told Timothy to use as instruction in righteousness/righteous living.

    2 Timothy 3
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

No amount of works or law keeping saves us though. We are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling…not work for our salvation. So get saved and get going on obeying everything you read in scripture. Righteousness does not come by the law, but someone that has been made righteous should walk it out by fulfilling the righteousness of the law by the power afforded him by grace and YHWH’s Spirit.

    1 John 3
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

If we fail to keep YHWH’s commandments we can receive forgiveness and be cleansed from the unrighteousness that breaking YHWH’s law produces in us…if we confess that law breaking sin as sin and repent.

    1 John 1
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

    Proverbs 28
13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

If we continue to reject YHWH’s provision for us to obey His commandments and do not renew our carnal minds, that cannot be subject to YHWH’s law, we will end up in deep trouble. Religious. Disillusioned. Self condemned. Confused. Powerless.

    2 Timothy 3
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

    Shalom

  10. “fulfill the righteous REQUIREMENT of the Law” (you left that part out)

The righteous REQUIREMENT (Mic 3:3) is fulfilled by those who obey the Spirit’s conviction (replacing the Law – the Law was given by Moses on Pentecost, but Grace and Truth by Jesus Christ on Pentecost), and Paul explicitly says the requirement of the Law is NOT fulfilled by those who walk by the letter, but by the Spirit.

    Are you a Jewish anti-missionary?

  11. The Spirit can never REPLACE the Law, because the Spirit (along with the Father and Son) GAVE the Law: so the FULFILLMENT becomes the WALK.
If Dan says, “It’s all about spirit”, he’s wrong in that there are many evil spirits, and without boundaries mankind crosses over from good to evil without discernment.
If Bo says, “It’s all law”, he’s wrong in that there have been many laws written, what Jesus calls ‘the traditions of men’, that aren’t good; e.g. self-serving, and tend to be judgmental without LOVE.
So you’re both 90% RIGHT(eous); but beware of that other 10%.
    In Him, Ron M.

  12. Bo,

I checked the comments just to see if you posted. You did. Haha, hope all is well. I won’t be debating you this time, however.

  13. Torn, Why return to chains when your chains have been broken?,why redraw a curtain of separation when the curtain has been torn? why hope for a temple when you are the temple? Why return to condemnation under the law when there’s no condemnation in Jesus Christ? When Jesus said he was the way the truth and the life and no one comes to the father except through him ..and him (Jesus) being the word..I would think he had the true understanding of it…oh beloved Israel please know that your true messiah Jesus the Christ loves you so… and has clearly demonstrated it in his life and death and Resurrection.
