The comment by Michael about a finding of George Barna,regarding the lack of impact teaching in congregations has on the lives of those in the pews,is no surprise.
The elders in Britain and America are not serving up the same recipe Jesus gave ; furthermore,instead of the PURE MILK of the Word,folk in the pews are getting the PASTORIZED milk of the wineskin (so to speak).The warnings of Jesus have been skimmed off !
This problem of lack of impact has been noted in Augustinian Protestant settings for around 500 years – see Leonard Verduin’s chapter on CONDUCTUAL-AVERAGISM in his book The Reformers and Their Stepchildren.

That said,i have a comment on the chameleonic behavior of some who call Jesus ‘Lord,Lord’.The mention by Michael about George Barna’s findings (regarding the lack of impact pew attendance has on people’s lives),is nothing new – it has been noted in Augustinian Protestant settings for around 500 years.

The problem is not hard to fathom,and is unlikely to change in Britain and America before Jesus comes back (2 Timothy 4:3-4) if the present scarcity of QUALITY teaching continues. Many elders in Britain and America are NOT serving up the same RECIPE Jesus gave ; and instead of the PURE MILK of the Word,folk in the pews are getting the PASTORIZED milk of the wineskin (so to speak) – the warnings of Jesus have been SKIMMED off ! Consequently,they (that is,speaking ONLY of those who are genuinely born from above) are NOT growing in respect to salvation,but remain in a sort of perpetual infancy – or they go the way of disciples from stony ground or of those among thorns.
Scripture cannot be broken. If a LASTING REVOLUTION or REVIVAL is to actually happen in Britain and America,it will,I believe,take a PERMANENT return to Jesus’s RECIPE. Same ticklish censored recipe,same lukewarm problem – what you sow you reap. I believe Scripture speaks of a rather different future for standard British and American congregations (Matthew 24:10-12 and 2 Thessalonians 2:3). As David Pawson would say,some lean towards pessimism,some optimism,but he favors REALISM.
“Why do you call me ‘Lord,Lord’ “, said Jesus,almost 2000 years ago. If Jesus stood on the platform of a typical Evangelical congregation in Britain and America today,would He say any different ?

It is very sad to know and to see how the hypocrisy of the world is highly favored over every good and hold-some truth of God.I tell you it all begins in our schools after it had left the master mind of darkness,for our children to pass their exams,they of to believe and write lies.They are thought and are force to believe the theory of the big bang, over the righteous dogmatic truth of genesis One One. Do you remember when you thought your father was God,or he’s the strongest man in the world? it is easy for a child to believe and to live what they learn.
