The Bible speaks about the return of Yeshua, as if it was only days away, as if it was going to happen any minute, yet it’s been thousands of years – the same is true of the ‘will soon disappear’ of the old covenant. It’s important to know when the Bible is speaking from God’s point of view with regards to time, or we may end up like Harold Camping’s followers. God’s timing is perfect and sometimes He doesn’t do things straight away when we want Him too. The ‘will soon disappear’ of the old covenant happens at the end of the millennium, when Yeshua says,

The old covenant is tied to this world and ends with this world, while the new covenant is tied to the new world in which there is no,
God’s plans will not be thwarted. He had a plan and purpose for the Mosaic covenant, and Israel never fulfilled that plan, but God’s plan and purposes for it will be fulfilled in the millennium, and then the world will see what God intended and all the nations shall stream forth to Jerusalem.

Hebrews 8
1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
[The sum is that there is a new high priest. The topic being discussed is the priesthoods and their duties and ordinances.]
3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
[The priesthood that offer according to the law are part of a shadow of the heavenly things.]
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
[He found fault with them…the people, the priesthood. There is no fault with YHWH’s perfect law. The flaw in the covenant is that the people failed to do what they agreed to. The fault with the priesthood, that was added because of transgression, is that they cannot perfect the people once they have sinned.]
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
[The new covenant is better in that there is no need for a priesthood to teach every man his neighbor, for YHWH’s perfect law is now written on our hearts. We want to do it. There is no new law.]
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 In that he saith, A new (covenant or priesthood?), he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
[The old priesthood, not the covenant, was ready to vanish away. The temple was about to be destroyed. The priesthood has vanished away for about 2000 years now. The covenant is still in place.]
1 Then verily the first (covenant or priesthood?) had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
[The main topic seems to be the priesthood not the covenant. The author of Hebrews brings the new covenant into the argument to show the temporaryness of the priesthood. (They shall teach no more every man his neighbor.) There is no need of an earthly Levitical priesthood to teach us what the law says if it being written on our hearts. No new Torah. A new set of rules for sacrifices.]

Did you say how ‘Covenant’ wasn’t in the Greek, but how the translators added it? That would go to show how you can’t trust certain translators to be honest 100% of the time, especially when it comes to Jewish issues.
But whether it was talking about the Covenant or the Priesthood, the text still says “what is becoming obsolete and aging, will soon disappear” future sense, not “what is obsolete and aged, has disappeared” past sense, which explains Ezekiel’s temple and fits beautifully with the consistent message of scripture.
All your generations, from generation to generation, לעולם – mean just that, literally.
What I love about the Jewish faith of the Apostles is how it harmonizes all scripture together.
I’m not a New Testament only guy, nor a Tanakh only, but I love and accept both.
It’s regrettable how some think the “Old testament” should be, “for her history only”.
But getting back to the priesthood, 1000 years of Ezekiel’s temple with sacrifices is like the blink of an eye to God, compared to eternity with him where there is no temple, just the new Jerusalem and the light of God.

I didn’t say that covenant wasn’t in the Greek, but it is interesting that it isn’t. If the major point was about the covenant there is ample room to put the word in there. That it doesn’t appear there makes me think that it was left out on purpose. The majority of Hebrews deals specifically with the differences between the Melchizedek and Levitical priesthoods. That Jeremiah 31 is introduced into the middle of this discussion and then passed by should clue us in that it brought up for the sake of demonstrating the difference between going to the priests and being a priest to our Elohim.
The reason that the Levitical priesthood was instituted was because Israel asked for some one to hear from YHWH for them. YHWH proposed that they be a nation of kingly priests. They couldn’t take it after just 10 words. Do we fall after the same manner of unbelief by placing the clergy on a pedestal? Are we guilty of nicolaitanism which thing Y’shua hates?
We are to come boldly to the throne of grace…that is the mercy seat, is it not? Our high priest opens the way for us to hear directly from YHWH. It is what YHWH always wanted for His people, but he gave them what they asked for. The throne of grace was approached by a few in the Tanakh. The Spirit being poured out on all flesh makes the opportunity and the responsibility ours again.
The new covenant is the gospel. The gospel is that we can have direct access to YHWH as sons, priests, kings. Hebrews says that the gospel was preached to us and those at Sinai, but that they disobeyed and disbelieved. We could fall after the same manner of unbelief and disobedience. We could have the faith of Y’shua and not obey YHWH’s instructions or we could keep Torah and fail to put our trust in Messiah. Either way we fall into the trap.

Here’s something people haven’t realised yet… those in Yeshua before he returns, will be transformed at the start of the Millennium into sons of God, brothers of Malkiṣadeq, with glorified bodies, becoming priests and kings, but those still in fallen bodies, sons of Adam, will still have the same rules applying to mortal man under the Sinaitic Covenant in the Millennium.

I wanted to discuss Messianic heresies.
It seems most of them come out of hatred for the Church or hatred for the Jews. Because I’ve tried to stay clear of those groups, it means that I don’t fully know their positions that well, but I’m interested in knowing the full number of Messianic heresies.
Sacred namers, Lunar Sabbath, Replacement Theology (they say Ashkenazi Jews are not real Jews, but they are the lost Israelites without any conclusive proof)
I’d like to compile a list so that I can forewarn fellow believers and those interested in the Jewish origin of the faith as to what dangerous beliefs are out there and how to protect their hearts and minds from them.

I could not begin to tell you all the wrong doctrines of these sort of groups. I have only been involved in a very limited way with a few of these things. I just search the scripture and try to do what it says. I hold to some of each groups ideas. (Not because they are their ideas, but because I find them in scripture.) I jokingly call myself Pajamish…Petecostal-Jewish-Amish. That pretty much covers every idea in scripture…at least in a general way.
The best thing to do is to know the truth and the error will be obvious. If you have any questions about certain doctrines, I could discuss the scripture with you. I do not exactly have a list of the things that constitute heresy. I’m not that smart and have not been exposed to a great variety of winds of doctrine.
The only thing I see, more and more, is that both Christianity and Judaism add to and take away from what the scripture teaches. I have called them ditches on the side of the true path. They both have much truth but are stuck in a rut. Living by every word of YHWH is the true path. I am guessing that you pretty much know this already.
