[Link to Song] Matthew 11:19 “The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.” Verse 1 A friend is hard to come by, Proverbs 20:6 Many a man proclaims his own steadfast […]

A Song/Article : Holy Love

Here’s a bouncy, happy song about some aspects of God’s holy love. Shira Harwood, Marian Iovino, Joshua Pearson and I recorded this in our basement. It’s been primarily written for children, but it’s been enjoyed by […]

An Epiphany of His Affection

Feb 15th, 2011 | By David Harwood

I was teaching two classes in Manhattan, one on Philippians (as a window into Pauline theology) and the other on God’s love. What I taught on God’s love was apparently irrelevant to one student until we happened upon this verse in the Philippians class: For God is my witness, how I long for you all […]

  1. David Harwood’s book “God’s True Love”is a great book.I bought the book only because Dr. Brown recommended it.I didn’t think there was anything anyone could tell me about God’s love I didn’t already know.

I learned that there is more to His love than I realized and just as important the book showed me the love God expects us to have for are neighbor.I do believe many chrstian’s misunderstand the love God expects us to have for are neighbor [the second greatest commandment the Lord gave us].

The more love we have for are neighbor’s the greater desire we will have to help them and to reach out to the lost.

I believe if we have that love we will act on it and with God’s help we will see results.I recently started attending a church that has that love for thier neighbor and God has sent them out into the community to help others and to reach the lost.Because of that my best friend was saved a days back.

I just had to add that because I’m feeling really good about it.God deserves all Praise,Thanks and Glory for he is Worthy of it all! What a great witness it will be for my friend was a great sinner. It will bring Glory To God!

I would like to ask everyone to pray for my friend. That his walk with the Lord will go well.

  2. We know that we live in a time when some will give their support of same sex marriage.

I heard a politician say that it was important for him at this time to support it.

I couldn’t help but hear those words as if he was saying, “I’m doing this for myself. It’s for my political career. Because of the times, because there is some support for such a thing beginning to show, I could become known as a ‘world changer’. I could make a name for myself as a world changer. I could become more important in the eyes of many….None of this Purpose Driven Life for me…except or unless my purpose is for myself, my influence, my political power to change things. It takes power to change things you know, and it’s that sense of power that I crave…”

I couldn’t help but hear those words that way.

We need politicians who speak up for God and the things that please him and not ourselves.

I would rather hear something like, “It’s important that I stand for the things of God at this time and against those things that displease him. It’s important for the people of the United States that I stand against corruption and those things that are crooked, perverse, and wrong. It’s important that I speak up against these things at this time. I believe God cares about the moral matters that concern this nation. I believe God cares about what dirrection a nation goes, whether it will be for the things he is for, and against the things he is against, or not.
I believe it’s important for the well being of any nation to enjoin him his way. (Job 36:22,23)
For God exhaults the nations and also is able to give them trouble for going the wrong way. (Job 35:29)…”

  3. You couldn’t say that David Wilkerson didn’t have a heart for NYC, yet he issued some of the harshest prophecies against it of any well-known preacher I’m familiar with. My second son followed the pendulum from Graham Cooke grace to Charle’s Finney’s very strict interpretation of love, and part-way back again; so Love concerning Judgment is something even strong believers have trouble reconciling.
    In Him, Ron M.
