Bin Laden Is Dead: What Does This Mean For Believers?

[Download MP3]
Dr. Brown discusses the ramifications of Bin Laden’s death for believers in Jesus, and how we should respond.

Hour 1:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: Your life can count for God more than you realize. It’s not a matter of how smart you are, how talented you are, or how much money you have. It’s a matter of how much you will yield yourself to God; the excellence of the strength, power, anointing, and gifting is all from Him! If you will give yourself to Him unconditionally, He will use you in ways beyond your wildest dreams. If you hold back nothing from Him, He will hold back nothing from you.

Hour 2:

Dr. Brown’s Bottom Line: We serve an eternal God. We have been given eternal life. We have been spared from eternal punishment and eternal destruction. How then should we live in this world? What should the expression of eternity be in this life? Should we not lead sober, vigilant lives, fully given to the gospel, that will bear fruit that will last forever?

Revolution: The Call to Holy War by Dr. Brown: This book is not a call for the violent overthrow of the government, nor is it a call to take up arms, nor is it a call to political activism in and of itself. It is a call to something far more extreme, a call to live out the gospel…

Pauline Abandonment: Online Article by Bryan Purtle

“…Am I pursuing the treasures of this world? a name in ministry? a reputation before men? my own peace, prosperity and happiness? Or am I totally abandoned in my innermost parts to Jesus Christ?…”

Don’t Just Talk About the Gospel… Demonstrate It!: Online Article by Eric Gilmour

…We are bound by our agendas and drained by our expectations, but love is freedom, for it is not something to do, but be. Let us focus on the love of God and let love melt the hearts of men. Even if they don’t receive the gospel that day, they will never be able to shake off the fact that we loved them and told them of His irresistible love…

  1. Good question — “are we as committed to bringing life…”

My step-dad was an Islamic Extremist. Only concerning the things that I know about:
    1. He and his friends had false identities made, took out credit cards on those names, and created as much debt for the U.S. as possible (what did they do with the items? I don’t know)
    2. Having been an airplane mechanic, and then a pilot, he stole (and eventually went to jail for) airplane parts from (now defunct) Eastern Airlines (to sell them? My mother had found a check for $114,000 in the house, asked — and he was just, “what check?” and took it from her.)
    3. Stole airplane tickets (to sell them??)
    4. Every single day was vigilant to watch the war in the Gulf, spewed words of hatred for America; lived every breath for the violent and hateful cause of Jihad (though, at the time, I did not understand what he was).
    5. Took off with my brother and sister on Mother’s Day weekend (his weekend for visitation, as it had worked out in the courts) on a plane and didn’t return (he is now on the FBI website for International Parental Kidnapping) to “save” them from becoming “Christians” (since I’d began to walk with Christ, and been teaching them a few things).

These are just a few things they did – he was committed; I ask myself the same question: If I’m not, why am I not as committed to the Cause of Christ as he was to his cause?

The obvious answer: it is easier to be committed evil (on their part) than it is to be conformed to the Image of Christ.

  2. (not that I am satisfied or should be satisfied with anything less than complete devotion; I’m just making an observation to CORRECT a presumption that ‘they are more committed’ – yes, because lies are easier to do for people than truth)

  3. At times I feel like I do not not fit into this world. I truly feel like a foreigner at times.

An example…The way the public reacted when Bin Laden was killed. People rejoicing, feeling ecstatic, chanting USA USA USA.

I’m like…what is going on here? The only reaction I felt when Bin Laden died was now he is in hell forever. Now he realizes there is no Allah. Allah has no power.

My heart and desire is to reach out to people. Let them know there is a God who loves them. A God who is forgiving.

The Muslim religion do not know if their god will forgive them until the day they die. Well, there is the 1 true God who will forgive you now, this very second if only you ask Him too. For Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

I am not going to judge another Christian’s walk with the Lord. If they are truly committed to the Lord, the Lord will work on them. All I know is there isn’t a true UNITY in Christ. Too many Christians always bickering about silly little things. It don’t matter.
Its all about being that walking bible. Letting the light of Christ shine through us.

I continue to say…Lord use me. Use me Lord. Direct my path, my mouth, my actions. Forgive me when I fail.

    Scripture really is true.

    Proverbs 10:27
The fear of the LORD adds length to life, but the years of the
    wicked are cut short.

  4. Daniel,
I pray the Lord will continue to use you to bring your family members to Christ. What a life you went through. The things you witnessed. I guess we all have our own story, huh?

I pray the Lord holds you up strong. REST in the Lord. Give it all to Him.

  5. GROSS ME OUT!!!! I think my cat is a Radical Islamic terrorist. He keeps bringing me beheaded mice on my back porch.

    SICK!!!!
