  1. A cataclysmic event would happen in the Middle East as soon as Iran proceeds to actually act on their verbal threats against the nation of Israel. If Iran were to rise up to destroy Israel, they will suffer the same fate as those nations listed in Psalm 83. They would cease to be! President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a very foolish man indeed for Isaac’s blessing on Jacob stands as testimony for all to witness.

Genesis 27:29 Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother’s sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.

According to the Word of God, the time of shame for the people of Judah (Jews) has passed. Not only are they to receive praise from all the people of the world, but they are to feed us with their fruit as well.

Zephaniah 3:20 At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the LORD.

Isaiah 27:6 He shall cause them that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.

As far as the Palestinian Arabs and the nation of Lebanon, they are the brethren of the Jews. Their culture maybe Arab and their religion maybe Islam, but their pedigree is Israelite. And just maybe the real reason why the Palestinian Arabs didn’t get absorbed into the other Arab nations in the Middle East was because God would not allow it for they too, just like the Jews, are married to the land. As long as the Palestinian Arabs and the people of Lebanon have not realized this very important truth about themselves, they have not truly come home to their divine destiny. They kind of act like lost souls. They are truly God’s prodigal sons who haven’t come home yet!

  2. Likey so: the rockets are ready; the first study and devotion is violence; there is prophecy on Damascus being leveled; the Nation was created in a day resists present unreasonable hatred, the lack of moral principle and distorted reality; Islam looks for its unifying leader, where its adherents debase human and godly respect; and all those warheads and stockpiled weapons are poised. Folks who meet in the streets and repeatedly fire automatic rifles in the air need some serious adjustments; world curriencies devalue daily. What restrains evil from triumph, if it is not the Lord?

  3. Notice the phrase, “the children of Israel… that dwell… in the corner of a bed”. A very telling verse!

    Amos 3:12
Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.

  4. I think we are all expecting “something” to happen in the Middle East. I won’t go so far as to say within five years, but, I think we all know enough to expect that as soon as Iran, (ancient Edom, the descendents of Esau), get their hands on a nuclear weapon, they will point it at Israel. The violent, demonic hate they spew is a continuance of the “old hatred” that they have “held forever” against the descendents of Jacob. Does the Lord have no ears that He cannot hear? Is the Lord’s arm shortened that it cannot save? The Lord has gathered all of Israel’s enemies “round about them”, just as He said through the prophets. When the Lord clothes Himself with vengeance, Israel will be the “last man standing.” Fire from heaven will devour Israel’s enemies “round about them” and then shall they look upon their Savior and rejoice for their Divine Deliverance! I prefer to look to the end of those things, when the Lord will turn their weapons back on their own heads!

Isa 54:14 “In righteousness you will be established; You will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; And from terror, for it will not come near you.
Isa 54:15 “If anyone fiercely assails you it will not be from Me. Whoever assails you will fall because of you.
Isa 54:16 “Behold, I Myself have created the smith who blows the fire of coals And brings out a weapon for its work; And I have created the destroyer to ruin.
Isa 54:17 “No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD.

    Amen!

  5. Opened the letter from the Midwestern bank holding company this AM in which the family had considerable investment: Amcore bankrupt. This is heartland USA. Read of Fox News firning someone today for commenting negatively on Islam–where 20 years ago it was not even a consideration pro or con in US talk. Daily the dollar is dumped internationally, and talk is of a new standard needed. It seems the light of integrity has wained over our past values lost. The reason such an event will occur in the next five years is that the USA will not be a restraining factor in the regional spiritual/political balance in the region, because the USA has lost its center of integrity, i.e. a relationship with a Biblical God influencing its policies, processes, and economy. The warnings have been given for decades, restraint has vacated priorities when even capitalism is bankrupt. Look for broad and uncontrollable changes from our end of events.

  6. Jabez,

Did you say Fox News fired someone for negative comments about Islam?

That doesn’t surprise me, if that is, in fact, what happened. Fox News’ second major shareholder, after Rupert Murdoch, is Saudi Prince, Alwaleed bin Talal, who is funding the Cordoba Initiative in building the mosque at ground zero.

I wonder how much the tone of Fox News’ rheteric will shift in the near future.

    Interesting bit of news.

  7. While I do believe that the nations will gather against Israel, some of those video links need context.

The USA has exercised hegemonic macroeconomic policies in developing countries which cause rightful hatred of America. Notice how one of the clerics said, “I’m not talking about most Americans who are ignorant of US foreign policy” I thought that was actually a true point.

I do however think that USA policy does not adequately explain the hatred of Israel and Jews by radical Islam. I think radical Muslim leaders frame their message of autonomy as a guise for destruction of the Jewish people.

I think the political radical Muslim idea of their messiah is the exact opposite of Jesus the Jewish Messiah, at least he’s going to fight for Israel and there will be national turning to him!

  8. I wonder if the cataclysmic event won’t erupt in America before it does in the Middle East!

I don’t think God especially blessed capitalism. And while it is the economic system that allows everyone willing to work within its paramaters a chance to increase in personal security and individual wealth, we see how the corruption of even that system is, now, favorable only to those wealthy enough to enjoy the loop-holes they personally built into it, both changing the playing field and moving the goal post. If we are not rich towards God, no matter how much we are worth, our wealth is cankered and turns to rust. It’s true that socialism proved to be just another arm of the centralized state, because people on this side of eternity are just not that altruistic. But, remember the early church gathering together and “they had all things in common, and no one said that what they had was their own; but they with possessions sold what they had and distribution was made to all according to their needs.” (?) Somehow satan got wind of that early Christian mind set and now, the very thought has the wealthiest capitalists crying “foul”! (having all things in common is evil..how profound.) If the dominoes fall, we may all be called upon to embrace that early Christian fellowship once more. If the need arises, you are, everyone of you, invited to come to my home! We can plow up the entire 10 acres!

Perhaps the woes befalling America are not because of the sinners in it, but, because the righteous are not doing what they should be doing, i.e., Isa 58:7 “Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh? Isa 58:8 “Then your light will break out like the dawn, And your recovery will speedily spring forth; And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. Isa 58:9 “Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; You will cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you remove the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness, Isa 58:10 And if you give yourself to the hungry And satisfy the desire of the afflicted, Then your light will rise in darkness And your gloom will become like midday.” The Lord chastens the ones He loves, so, we should, maybe, consider ourselves thoroughly chastened and repent and do the first works. We can’t expect sinners to repent, that’s why they are called sinners, because they “will not” repent.

I agree with you, Jabez, America will be removed from the playing field, one way or another. We’ve begun to somewhat mirror ancient Rome… I’ve considered that America is the “seventh” kingdom that continues for only a short while. Remove us and you remove Israel’s earthly help. I’m not a fatalist, I like to think I’m a realist. It doesn’t bother me to die in the will of God. I trust Him emphatically, for, “whether I live or die, I am Christs.” The Lord raised America up for a reason and if we have fulfilled His destiny for us, I’m happy with that. The bottom line: “His will is done on earth as it is in Heaven.” That’s answer enough for me.

If the Lord’s initiative is to bring Israel to their knees, where they have no one to turn to except Him, then, that’s how it will be. Perhaps that’s what it will take to bring them to say, “Baruch habah b’shem, Adonai”. For, without our Jewish brothers returning to our God and their God, and our Savior and their Savior, the Kingdom will not be complete because the King will not come until his sheepfold is gathered as one. So, if they are left alone as a cottage in a field of cucumbers, they “will” call upon the Lord. The thought breaks my heart, but, our prayers go to God, never giving Him rest until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Isa 62:11 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward [is] with him, and his work before him. Isa 62:12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

p.s., Jabez, do you know how to grow your own food? Although it takes me much longer these days, it’s good exercise and may be more valuable than gold in the near future. I’m sorry your family has suffered recent loses, I’ll keep you in my prayers.

    God Bless.

  9. Sheila,

When I was praying about making a response on this particular forum, Isaiah lept forth from memory of reference in particular. His outlook from a well educated, well connected, and Kingdom sensitive reference came alive briefly in my prayer closet. I then felt led only to summarize some of what is apparent there in reference to this Nation. One could write pages from Isaiah’s outlook, concerns, and promises. I concur with all you wrote. As for what is ahead and looking to the earth and land for its yield, perhaps, but it is essential that we are rightly connected with other believers where the purity of our relationship with the Father in churches will yet assist our needs, through His connection. I’ve not wanted to go there, but the US is perhaps the most pagan of Nations, whether coming from the left or the right. We all are warned to trim our lamps and maintain our connections with the King and Kingdom foremost. The time is short.

  10. Correction, The person fired was from PBS, not Fox News, though he often appears as a commentator there. Accuracy is vital to our representations, mine was inaccurate, see the next radio program from Dr. Brown on this matter.

  11. Jabez, I can’t take any credit for what is written in the Word of God, but it was your comment about Damascus that led me to it.

  12. Jabez,

I have rain barrels that collect the water run off from the roof. So, as rain was sparce this year, I could fall back on that. They hold eighty gallons and I’ve not used half of it.

“Pray for rain in season” Do you wonder about the story of Joseph and putting up for the seven lean years, when there was a drought in all the land? If we are spending our money on nonsense instead of learning from the stories the Lord left for us, and “discerning the sign of the times”, how will we do? It’s true we are to trust in the Lord for our basic needs being met, but, on the other hand, He did leave us His word to learn from.

Is it the three and a half years that you are referring to? Or, the general warnings spread throughout?

  13. We are not yet entering the three and one half year tribulation scenario. Dr. Brown had a radio program prior on how prophecy happens as to fulfillments, quite good.

There are likely prerequisite scenarios, and too we are not appointed for wrath, but will be tested and tried with the inhabitants of our earth in due time. All of earth’s history has had its seasons of tests and trials, wars and their rumors, famine and drought, and economic stress. There are different conditions internationally now than have been prior, even the so-called “Great Depression” was not really international, and affected less than 20% of the US Population at the time.

The forum here was on the middle east, and Jerusalem as the center of the “cup of trembling”, for nations taking on its challenges as their own. God is a jealous God, and Islam has made false claims in a widening sphere of influence, by its false prophet. Its claims are reinforced by political and fearful manipulation of masses of people, and its focus is on so-called pillars, the primary being Jihad.

We must judge books not only by their covers.

  14. Jabez,

It wasn’t at all that I thought any part of the tribulation was upon us. I think only the signs of the beginning of labor pains. I jumped ahead in misinterpreting your comment, when you said; “As for what is ahead and looking to the earth and land for its yield, perhaps”. I’m not at all seeing the western hemisphere as the “third” that would be the focus of the things outlined in the later woes coming, as they affect Israel’s enemies, as I see it.

So, I read into it something more than was there. Of course the scriptures say, “to try those living on the earth”, but, some will be “kept from the hour of temptation that shall come upon all the earth..” Of course we are not appointed to wrath. A good bit is outlined in the book of Zephaniah 2.

I’ll have to catch the previous show you mentioned tomorrow, if it’s still available.
If you are referring to Dr, Brown’s most recent program, I’ve not listened to the next one yet.

  15. Jabez,

Are you referring to Muhammed as the false prophet when you said: “Islam has made false claims in a widening sphere of influence, by its false prophet.” (?) Because I have different thoughts on some the players who are in the game at this time, and, I see the one named, “the false prophet” in the latter days, as a modern person fulfilling that role. There was an article I read about 5-6 years ago on bin Laden; the title was, “The Prophet of Doom”. I thought, “exactly”. And, it seems, the one who is currently speaking “great swelling words against the Most High God”, and is “wearing out the saints”, is Ahmadinejah.

As far as Israel being “a cup of trembling” for all the nations “who burden themselves with them”, I believe that the United States’ current role as peace makers in the Middle East and as furnishing Israel with our state of the art weaponry, is exactly what we should be doing. Only months ago, we gave sixty billion dollars of aid to Israel, by way of ultimately furnishing them with our latest fighter jets and advanced weapons systems, which no other country but we and Israel possess. In the Lord saying, “blessed are the peace makers”, I believe Him. We should follow peace regardless of whether or not the other side keeps their part of the bargain. Muslims are notorious for making and breaking treaties as they don’t see themselves as obligated to keep any treaties entered into with infidels. We are blessed in initiating and upholding peace as opposed to those who break it, for whatever reason.

Truth be told, Israel’s enemies are also our enemies, i.e., radical, terrorist Muslims. The terrorists have become enemies to their own brothers and sisters in Islam as well. I think for the most part, your average Muslim is no different than the vast majority of Christians, who practice religion by rote. There are peaceful Muslims, and there are radical, warmongering professing Christians, whose “fruit” is rotten. Let’s face the facts. The empire founded by Constantine turned the tables and executed “non-christians”, then, we had the crusades, then, the pograms, carried out by professing Christians. And then, most recently by Hitler. We’ve not exactly been pillars of righteousness ourselves. Enter in the age of nation building beginning with the British and the war machine of the U.S., and you have ample reason for others mis-trust of American interests in foreign affairs. I think they are justified in their minds to a certain extent because you cannot change the truth of history. I’ve not read Dr. Brown’s book, “Our Hands are Stained with Blood”, but, as far as I understand the basic tenet of it, it’s sadly true.

As far as a cataclysmic event in the Middle East, sure. I see Israel as fulfilling Zechariah. Zec 12:6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, [even] in Jerusalem.
